The same as all other roses, although when I got mine, I bought one of those dark green stakes that they sell for a couple of dollars at HD and I have them tied onto it with that green tape for plants.
You prune them just like a regular rose in the spring, down nice and low, you spray them, feed them, the same, you are in PA zone 6, so you really should be fine as far as winter protection, roses are pretty hardy there.
I love my tree roses, I have them planted next to my driveway in the front of the house. They look great there.
Buy it if you like it, and treat it just like a regular rose.

Spot on. Standards (aka, "tree roses") shouldn't be sold north of zone 7b. Move along, nothing to see there, unless you want to grow it in a pot and move it into an unheated garage every winter.

I think Karl grows one (Polar Joy?) that is hardy, but that isn't sold at the local big box. Save yourself, don't do it!

In Pa, unless you're willing to grow it in a very large pot, mine is in a large tree pot, and move into an unheated garage or shed each winter, pass on it.
The weak point is the bud union or graft which sets up high and is vulnerable to winter freeze. Regardless of the hardiness of the grafted variety, if the bud union is damaged by freezing temps, you'll lose the budded variety.
My Polar Joy doesn't have RMV and I've had it for almost 5 years.

I have watched folks buy and plant standards for over a decade here in east Tennessee which is a mix of zone 6b and 7a. None have survived their first winter.

I do know folks here who have overwintered tree roses in their garage for about twelve years. The roses' winter vacation is taken in front of a sunny window where they are watered as necessary; they are protected from the cold of the garage by a custom made accordian of shutters to cut down on colder breezes.

I usually stick mine in the garage on particularly cold nights even here(zone 8)...I didn't do that this year and lost one of the 3. If you don't put them in the garage they will die.

Definitely overwinter in a garage or basement. I had two beautiful Lady of Guadalupe Rose Trees in zone 7 left outside and they both died. Keep them in pots and bring them in for the winter if you want them.

I put my tree rose in our unheated garage every winter, and wrap some bubble wrap around the top bud union, keeping it watered every month or so. It's made it through two winters now - with only a little effort. It would have been a goner, however, had I left it outside.

I saw some tree roses for sale for the first time here in Maryland at a local Lowe's, which is kind of odd considering the utterly brutal winter we just went through... They are pretty, but without some protection I fear the cold (or the 80" of snow?!) will get them.

Stores and garden centers will sell whatever the public will buy regardless if the plant is suitable for the area. Blooming tree roses sell. People will buy most any blooming potted rose without considering it's hardiness. These same people consider a dead plant to be their fault and just buy another one the next year. That's the basic reason so many think roses are hard to grow.
We can't really blame the garden centers or big box stores. The ones that don't give the public what they want soon go out of business.
That's why I stopped buying hybrid teas wholesale for resale. I felt bad knowing people wouldn't take the proper care of them and they'd fail to survive our winters.
I now only offer those hardy shrubs I grow and root myself.
