Tell me about these roses
Comments (20)I'm in Zone 9..cold (a and b evades all recollection) with Zone 8 winter dips. Barbara, Compassion is a very large rose, and that needs room to spread its wings. Ginger Syllabub I don't honestly know much about yet, but every LCl eventually wants to throw 8 foot canes at the very least. I do know I'll probably put it with some filtered light part of the day because the subtle color may simply disappear in the glare of full sun. It's a lovely thing, more creamy soft goldy apricot than just apricot. Here is a link that might be useful: Best shot of Ginger Syllabub...See MoreCan you tell me about the growing habit of these?
Comments (17)catspa, thanks, that settles where mister Ulrich goes. :) Olga, I think you have about 1-2 month longer growing season than we do here, so there might be differences in sizes due to that. For reference, Cornelia here can get 5x5 (as there is an old bush of her in nearby public garden). Don't think she is going to get taller there, wider however is a different story. :D melissa, if mine does well, you can have the cuttings. :) Have you seen those new albas bread by Sievers? Royal Blush gets me drooly as well as some others of their line. :D I plan to pair Chapeau de Napoleon with Stanwell Perpetual, Nur Mahal and Dupontii (of which I have 5 I think, as all the cuttings you sent me rooted and are escaping from their pot already...). I don't know if that plan is going to work out, and I risk creating the impassable jungle, then again if it does work out, it may be nice wildish corner. :)...See MoreHow about veriegated Copperleaf? Comments (5)I've grown Acalypha wilkesiana since I arived in Florida 25 years ago. They take full sun to 1/2 day shade. And yes, they can freeze back in tempatures that dip around 32 degrees. In south Florida, they can reach upwards of 15 foot. but here in St Pete, 6 foot is more like. I have several around my yard. My big red one - "Louisiana Red" stops traffic. The white one named "Java white" always gets an Wow! And don't forget about the chenille plant, it's in the same family, too. I think they're very easy to grow. If you can grow a hibiscus, you will not have any trouble growing one of these. Does anyone know the name of this one? http://community.webshots.com/photo/85749816/102335439FbLFIe Here is a link that might be useful: Louisana Red...See MoreShow Me (or tell me about) Your Desk/office in Kitchen & give ide
Comments (7)Here you go, the uppers have the calander hanging on one side and emergency numbers on right door and all the office things live here. There is an outlet for charging cameras and "my" stuff. On the counter is an outlet for the land line. Antique tray is our magnet board. Top drawer has a powerstrip attached to the back for DH's electronics this is "his" drawer for keys and anything else. Bottom drawer is the coupons, and "junk" drawer as I have found it is inevitable! Basket is home for shoes. There is now a cushion on the dog kennel. Once Buddy is no longer we can pop an end panel on kennel and the lid under cushion lifts for more storage. Hope this helps!
