Maybe it is Pink Peace. Do they carry that one?

It's definitely not QE, too light...I have regular Peace, but have never seen pink Peace, so I'm not sure.

What kind of growth habit does it have? Straight up or more shrub like? Is it tall or short?

Its a climber...very disease resistant, and the fragrance is wonderful!!! that's what made me think its an antique....problem is, I've never seen an antique in bloom, so I can't ID it.

It does have an old rose look, I wonder if it might be one of David Austin's "English" roses. It's not Queen Elizabeth or Pink Peace. However, it's very beautiful. I hope someone can help you with this.

If you check the nursery who sold it to you what are their list of roses that it might be... just a guess is Quietness

Too light for Pink Peace, PP is a hot pink color.

Is it possibly New Dawn? I've never seen that one live, so I'm not sure. But I know it's pink.

Definitely not New Dawn and not SDLM. Leaves look modern to me.

it's almost the color and shape of some of my belinda's dream-but most of it's blooms are large and have a great smell!!

I don't know what it is but Olga's quite right. It's nothing like New Dawn. New Dawn's a very pale, pearly pink (almost white, but with a pearly pink sheen).

what fragrance if any

I wonder if that's one of the romantica roses, or possibly Aloha (though the color looks wrong for Aloha)? Is it really a climber, or does it just grow tall like some teas (and romanticas) do? That rose looks really familiar, but I can't place it. It's a little too substantial and richly colored to be New Dawn, or its sport Awakening in my view, plus the leaves don't look right for that rose. I've never grown Awakening, but New Dawn I've got here, and it doesn't have such shiny, large, dark leaves. It reminds me a lot of Tournament of Roses, too. I know for sure it can't be Pink Peace, it has too many petals to be that rose.

Where did you order it from? What year did you order it? How often does it bloom?

How big is it? My untrained eyes thought it looked a bit like Belinda's Dream, but that is not a climber.

I think the petals and bloom look just like my Awakening but maybe my Awakening is something else.

I guarantee that is neither 'New Dawn' nor 'Awakening'; the foliage is all wrong for either of those. This appears to be a modern climbing HT or something from the Austin stable. Its very modern looking to my eyes.

The fragrance is wonderful....before it opens it smells like pink bubblegum (that's all I can think of) but later it smells like an old perfume little old ladies wore years ago(like yardley maybe?)....the blooms are huge....my hubby said, "wow", when he saw it....This spring I put fish emulsion w/seaweed on it this year, for the first time, and the blooms are the prettiest I;ve ever seen....before I think I just put some synthetic fertilizer on it. I would like to try to root it....if it is quietness, HMF says it roots easily. I'm hoping to find out this year if the fish emulsion helps it bloom more than just once....last year it just bloomed once, but I was not really fertilizing it.

i think it is a climbing sdlm
mine has a heavy flush early in the season and blooms throughout the summer
during the early flush, the entire garden smells terrific
my quietness doesn't have a fragrance and is a lighter shade of pink and is not a climber

(1) Quietness is not a climber (2) SdlM's foliage is not this modern looking and her bloom is more quartered.

Sorry, no...that is absolutely not 'Souvenir de la Malmaison, Cl.' Far too few petals and too much pigment.

Why don't you try to get a picture of the whole plant. For me, not always, but sometimes, I can see how the canes toward the bottom look, how they grow and determine if I think it is a Romantica that got big or a real climber such as Awakening, etc.

Also, see if it doesn't look like "Tournament of Roses". It's pretty much a ringer for that rose in color and form, and the foliage looks right, too. Some of the photos on Helpmefind.com are clearly NOT Tournament of Roses, but several show blooms that look like yours. Almost any modern rose can get the old-fashioned form on the early Spring blooms, if the weather is right. It's listed as a grandiflora, which are often quite tall plants.

The only thing is my rose has a strong, rose scent, and Tournament of Roses says it has no scent. But I agree it looks a lot like it. Maybe the scent thing is optional and varies according to certain conditions.
