Window film for glass greenhouse

I have nearly enough windows to make a solar greenhouse now but I still have a few questions.

I was thinking of putting on a film to help hold the glass together if it breaks. What type of film should I use? Most window film tries to stop the interior from getting warm but I want the heat. Maybe tint the overhang so the midsummer sun is blocked. Do I want a frosted tint and do they make one? Should I get a tint that holds heat in. Some of my glass is low-e. Will it be counterproductive to use it in the greenhouse or should I reverse it? It seems that in San Diego I should be able to keep a greenhouse a nice warm temp all year without power. Any help brainstorming is greatly appriciated.
