Orchids in a south window behind frosted window film?
Comments (7)there is also shade cloth for greenhouses (sold in garden centers) that has different grades of shading. you can try getting the one that gets the most light thru. It'll prolly will act as a privacy curtain too. even the usual sheer curtains will fuzz up the camera focus. then there are venetian blinds: when camera is pointing down, if you reverse them down towards outside they will block the view from top but allow enough light in . same with vertical blinds: depending on camera angle you can position them sideways to cover the view in, but still get light from the other side. sun angle matters too, of course. but they allow the max light to come thru vertically....See MoreAlternative to shutters - light, privacy & safety
Comments (16)Shutters are classic and transitional! As a window treatment specialist, I highly recommend Hunter Douglas Newstyle and Norman Woodlore. (Not a fan of HD Palm Beach- mine have turned yellow twice since I have been in the house in 8 years- HD replaced the first set). You can do an outside mount on the frame. As long as the trim isn't super wavy, it doesn't look bad and saves money on redoing trim. Most people want more view through and do a hidden tilt bar. Because you have limited depth, there is one distinct difference between Norman and HD. Norman makes their hidden tilt inside the frame so that you don't need an extra 3/8" behind the shutter for operation. HD has an exposed bar on the back. Some pros to shutters: great insulation, can do a split tilt bar to allow 1/2 shutter to open , while bottom stays closed, good on resale, no cords :)....See MoreFrosted Glass Living Room Window
Comments (8)I join the chorus of people recommending that you not frost the windows. There are cellular blinds that you can get where they can be adjustable to just cover the middle (or just the top or just the bottom). A house nearby me with windows near the road just has them adjusted to be about two feet wide at eye level. They get their privacy and lots of light. This picture shows the options the blinds can do:...See Morelooking for best quality window film for glass cabinet inset
