Opposite ? - Favorite Antiques for a newbie Modern Rose person

I feel completely lost. I want to add some antiques (eventually lots) to my garden full of new HTs & Floribundas. Chinas, Damasks, Musks, Teas, Bourbons, English, Shrub ... where to start. I'm starting to go through the Vintage Garden descriptions and photos and there are just so many. They all start sounding the same to me. Have been reading threads on favorite antiques, but the names start blending into one another. I need to get to a Sacramento Cemetary (or class), or Vintage Gardens, but weekend time is taken up with horses and really hard to get away.

I love very fragrant roses with intense rebloom, medium to large flowers, lots of pedals. Love bright colors, but color not a priority. Don't have room for the huge bushes - so perhaps 6' high/wide at largest.

Would love to know which you antiquers would recommend for a start into these wonderful roses, and perhaps the class of antique you think would be the best fit?
