I made my first ever batch of alfalfa tea!

And to be honest, I feel like I deserve a trophy for being able to spread the stuff! I made the 30 gallon recipie with alfalfa, fish emulsion and Epsom salts. Why dosnt the fish emulsion come with a warning label ? One that says, Caution , smells so awful you won't be able to eat the rest of the day? :) the first few days I stirred and thought, oh , I can handle this! Then the fourth day I opened the trash lid and almost fell over.

Last night when I got home from work I put on gloves, made a scooper out of a milk jug so they'd all get a gallon each, and got to work. Only almost died once from the smell! I cannot wait to see how it perks up the roses and I hope really helps them fill out nicely. I made sure to get my clematis too.

Who else makes alfalfa tea? Do you love it? How often should I do this?

I have to make one more batch because I totally forgot about my Abe Darby in the front yard and my little carol mini rose. So I may make enough to just spread all around the garden.

It was the smelliest thing I've ever done for the love of my roses!!
