There's always Mermaid. Fiercely prickled, alarmingly vigorous, shade tolerant and some bloom throughout the season. There are two huge old ones in my neighborhood and they inspire awe and respect. One covers a chain link fence all around a front yard - the other goes high up in a tree.

Zepherine Droughin I grew in part-shade and moved to (mostly) full sun and there is some scattered rebloom in sun but she was less than happy in part-shade with no rebloom. Only gets 8-10' high here. I find BS resistance acceptible.

I also grew MAC in part-shade and she did rebloom some but not very BS resistant here. She will get big for you.

A once-bloomer that would be ok in part-shade would be Baltimore Belle. I grew Paul Transom in full sun so don't know how it would perform in shade. Never any repeat bloom. Flowers looked awful after bloom -- brown tissue paper that would hang on.

Awakening or New Dawn are quite vigorous, healthy, and will repeat bloom even with part-shade.

Both roses are totally healthy here in humidity central. Peggy Martin and Dorothy Perkins would also work. So would Climbing Clothilde Soupert and Climbing Cecile Brunner are good repeating climbers. Just a thought...how about Paul's Scarlet Climber.

Gloire de Dijon, Madame Gregoire Staechelin (My favourite), Paul's Lemon Pillar, Treasure Trove, Goldfinch, Felicitie Perpetue, Kathleen Harrop and Zephirine D, Alberic Barbier, Climbing Paul Lede and Emily Gray will all grow on a north wall but not all are remontant.

I've been documenting the health of Old Roses grown in organic method gardens, or without spray, in our area, in the East Bay in the San Francisco Bay area in California, for several years, during each season of the year. This information will be of more help if your areas' usual temperature and humidity are similar to ours.
These 3 are the healthiest cl. Tea type roses, when grown without spray in our area, and in my eyes, are very beautiful: Susan Louise" California "Lamarque" and "Crepescule"
California "Lamarque" has larger blossoms than the southern form of "Lamarque". Bloom color in spring is a soft white, and for fewer weeks of the year the blossoms are a soft yellow. Foliage is very attractive and remains green and pretty for 10+ months of the year.
"Crepescule" Rosebuds have a beautifully elegant shape, that open to be apricot with some red veining occasionally near the base. "Crepescule" is quite resistant to p.m. and blackspot here, when mature.
If I desired a white remontant rose I'd choose California "Lamarque", for a pink climbing rose "Susan Louise" , and for an apricot climber; "Crepescule""
These 3 are resistant to foliage disease, here as mature plants and all 3 have a long bloom season and re-bloom quite rapidly.
-"Susan Louise" would cover a large wall very nicely. Grows to be c. 25 feet tall. Eventually. Very large blooms for a Tea type rose. Rose blossoms appear mostly pink, but have a bit of cream in them. This is a rose I have longed for, for years, and wish I had the room for it. It's petals appear rather loosely arranged on the bloom giving it a carefree and relaxed sort of appearance.
Vintagegardens.com is selling "Susan Louise" this month. I would snatch it up in an instance if I had a wall to grow it upon.
All three re-bloom rapidly through 10+ months of the year here, and would be suitable, I believe, for a Northern wall in zone 8.
White "Lady Banks" here is very healthy, and has lovely dark green foliage, and blooms well on a north wall on my neighbors house, but it only repeats bloom in Autumn at a rate of c. 15-20% of its' spring bloom cycle, here. I love it "truly, madly, deeply".
Caveat Rosa: My newly rooted "Reve d"Or" needed to be sprayed with Cornell during spring, summer and eary autumn during its first 2 years in my garden, though when mature it became quite resistant to disease.
-even more suseptible to p.m., where conditions favor that disease : "Mme. Alfred Carriere" I had to spray it with Cornell in my own garden nearly every month during the growing season, to keep it from defoliating, and I no longer grow it.

Anita,I gave a thought about Mermaid, but the accounts of her thorniness are also legendary. I think I might want to see her blooming (and thorns) in person before buying it, especially since my DH already complains that he soon will feel like that princess in a rose castle. :)))

Lori elf, that's good to know about Paul Transon, since I am not going to deadhead it either. I guess that's another to see in person before deciding. Awakening or New Dawn indeed are also an option, just that I already have it in my back yard, so I would like to have something different, with limited space for the climbers and all. :)

Pauls' scarlet climber and Paul's Lemon pillar I also looked at on numerous occasions. Do they really rebloom, or just get occasional blossom once in blue moon? And how they do disease wise?

Gloire de Dijon is another good option, I even might have a spare one since I got one as a replacement plant and still looking where to put it (and that depends on how everything grows in my garden this year a bit). Does Paul Lede grow well on North wall in UK? That's another one I would not mind having, but some sites list it as warmth-lover?

Susan Luise surely is a pretty one, but not sure if it will do well in my climate, since we can have summers on a cool side and North wall added to that probably would be a bit too much for a tea rose. I am going to try Crepuscule in a bit more sunny place though, since we have rather sheltered backyard with summer temperatures on a frying side (for seaside z8 that is).

Also, do you think Cl. Souvenir de la Malmaison might work on a North wall in my climate (with winters that rarely go lower than 25-30F and summers that usually are around 70-80F)?

elemire, I don't think BS will be your biggest problem - however, I think your climate is similar to mine (East Anglia) and powdery mildew is the main disease BUT, this is fairly easily remedied. Just make sure that there is enough ventilation behind the climber by putting your wires and trellis or whatever a few inches proud of the wall - I use battens - and dump loads of water on them. PM gets worse for me if the roses are dry at the roots and walls always suck up any spare water anyway so water like a maniac and you will be OK. PLP is a lovely lush rose and although it only really has one big flush, it is a long and fulsome one. PSC will sometimes repeat if the living is good - which I am sure it will be, my dear. Have fun.

Our climate should be similar indeed. We were thinking of using something alike battens for the support, so that should not be much of a problem. It is good to know that watering might help with mildew, at least until roses get established. We got sea clay over here, so moisture sticks around generally, but it may be a bit more difficult in the beginning for the poor things.

Down here in Coastal SoCalif, we also found MAC to be mildewy for us -- and she never outgrew it.

The "Southern Form" of Lamarque has grown in Ventura County, SoCal, since the 1860's, and is very clean here (as well as very floriferous).
Since it has such a long history here, we prefer it. And it seems to be disease-free in our area.

Have you considered Renae?
She's something like a continuous-blooming form of Cl. Cecile Brunner, so might be a contender.

Renae is really pretty, but I haven't seen any European nursery carrying it so far. It might be awfully a lot of trouble to get it.

I think it may be too cold for Lamarque overhere, since Peter Beales roses mention that "This beautiful rose will thrive if grown in a very sheltered, warm position in the South but will need cold-house protection in the North." Austin has similar description.

Our climate is similar to UK, so I fear that Lamarque would not like it that much on the North wall. I planted a few noisettes this year to see if I can grow them at all, quite curious how that will end up. Local nurseries generally sell very few noisettes, but a girl can dream. B-)

On a side note, campanula, did you order a tea rose from that Beales sale? :)
