Help plan 20x3' am sun border

phylrae

I want to re-do a 20x3' border that originally held 7 rose bushes (which just weren't getting enough full sun). This area lies parallel to our driveway, and is somewhat raised for good drainage. It gets full sun til about noon, then dappled sun/shade due to the canopy of a maple tree planted about 20-25 feet away. My husband refuses to have the canopy trimmed.

I am hoping to keep the colors in the rose-red/fuschia/pink family, with possibly some white.

These are some perennials I am considering, but would appreciate any help/advice in which would work best & how to plan it out for repetition sake (what should go on the ends, middle, which ones would look best in a large group etc.)

Weigela My Monet (12" high)

Dicentra Burning Hearts (10-12" high,blooms spring-early fall)

Heuchera Midnight Rose (10")

Campanula White Clips (12")

(All of these are available thru Bluestone Perennials)

Or possibly include one or more of these?

Foxy Foxglove (36") from seed

Robinson Red Painted Daisies (16-18") from seed

Lupine Red Shades (seed)

Lobelia cardinalis

Cleome sparkler rose shade (seed)

I want it to be a breathtaking border. Thanks for any help on which to consider and which to throw out of the equation!
