She said, 'I probably don't need to keep these anymore.'

Had a new refrigerator delivered yesterday and Leone dug out the old warranty papers on the old one. She had filed the papers from our last 3 refrigerators going back to 1950. Before that, we lived in a furnished apartment.

The first was a Norge, bought in 1950. The 2nd a Westinghouse, bought in 1961, we needed a bigger appliance, 3 kids, the 3rd and the one we got rid of yesterday was a Maytag, it was purchased in 1991. Still worked fine but she always wanted a bottom freezer and this one should run a lot less than the other.

Prices have gone up a bit since 1950, the Norge was $199, as I recall it had a tiny freezer space which really was only for ice cube storage. Guess the best one was the Westinghouse, 30 years of service from it.

If this Amana lasts 30 years it ought to be enough, lets see, I'd only be 112, yeah, that should do it.
