Update on Bone Scan and DD problems

Well as I suspected it is a Stress Fracture of the Femur-

Dr said he has only had this happen twice in 20 years and both times it was me------what a mess--I thought I would be up and walking by now---it has been quite painful

I'm grateful it is something that can be treated -----I will be in a wheelchair for 6 and a half weeks or two months--depending on how quickly I heal

He also gave me Elivil to help me sleep----

My daughter seems better---but it is sad to see someone so sweet have to become tough and cynical----

She has a difficult time realizing that her DH can be so mean---

I guess we all have to get tough eventually

I haven't been on the comouter very much-----the walk to the office has been too painful It will be easier with the wheelchair-

It has been a rough 4 months both physically and emotionally. I can't believe my son-in-law had to pick the very week-end that I was in the hospital to pack up and leave-------what a sad time for my daughter's family-

I hope everyone is OK----I will try to check in more often---

Florence--good to hear from you. I'm so glad this is a fixable problem and that you can get around better in the meantime. We all will look forward to chatting more with you again.

So sorry to hear this....

I guess if there is a silver lining to having a stress fracture might be that...its winter.

Rest and heal. You and your daughter are in my prayers.

Kim, There was a big package of seeds waiting for me when I got back into town today!!! I was out of town for a few days so I'm not sure what day it came, but WOW! I can hardly believe all of the wonderful seeds that I received. I've been looking through them and there are lot of things that I wanted and some that I didn't know that I wanted (but I want them now that I see them.) For example, I received Mexican Sage 'Limelight' for my blue and green garden. It has blue flowers with lime green calyxes. How cool is that!! So thank you everyone for sending in so many great seeds. I'm thrilled with what I got back! And a special thank you to our hostess. When I was putting together seeds to send in for this swap, I kept thinking how much work this swap would be to host. Honestly, Kim, I don't know how you did it. My brain would have turned to mush trying to keep all of those themes straight. You did an amazing job! Penny

Malwarebytes finished scanning and there were no infected files found. Oops! Upgraded DD's RAM - now Mouse won't work

Hi, Jane. The computer seems to be working great. It's noticeably faster. I don't think that the mouse and keyboard not working was bc. of the RAM. One possibility is that I had put the USB devices back in any USB port - which I thought should be no problem - but may have been. maybe it was especially too much since there were 3 USB devices in new ports. The other possibility is that in getting rid of the dust bunnies - blowing the dust out with compressed air, that I got a bit of dust on the power supply plug/port. I'm not sure - but one place I googled (perhaps a cnet forum?) reported the keyboard and mouse not working bc. dust got into that area. They had unplugged the power cord - cleaned out any dust - and tried again. I did both. Unplugged the power cord and dusted the area again - and replugged the USB devices into the right ports. I also started by just plugging in the keyboard and mouse. Once I was up and running, I plugged the microphone back in. So I don't know what caused the temporary disabling of mouse and keyboard - but I"m pretty sure it wasn't too much RAM - just something I did when I was messing with the innards or replugging devices back in. All seems to be great now. I put it off forever too. I'm pretty sure that I went to Crucial's website (on the computer I wanted to upgrade) and let it scan the computer to determine how much RAM (and what type) it could use. I also had been giving dream bones mini chews to my dogs. About 4 months ago my 7lb Chiweenie started throwing up blood and bloody stool 30 minutes after giving him the treat. I immediately took him to the vet where he had to spend the night. $400 later he got to come home. I didn't realize it was the treat as the vet said sometimes dogs get a intestinal virus. 3 days ago my short legged jack russell started the same thing. I took him to the vet the next morning when I found all the blood. 3 days later he got to come home. $1100 this time. I threw away all the dream bones treats that I had and will never buy these again. My dogs loved them and ate them for a couple years but my vet said that it was the treat that caused this. He got severely dehydrated and his kidneys were in bad shape. His white blood cell count was off. He was in really bad shape within a few hours. I am going to email the company and send them copies of my vet bills. We trust people to make stuff for our babies and then they poison them. I will never buy this product again and I will do everything I can to make sure no one else does either.

Hang in there Florence! Rest and heal and take this time off your feet to do some of the things you love to do when you're not up and about (how about some of your wonderful painting?). We are all cheering for you and your daughter - you are a wonderful model for your daughter in strength and faith.

I'm glad to here from you Florence. You have such an important place here. We all miss you. At least now you know what is wrong with your hip and have a prognosis. You will be up and about by spring though I know it will take sometime for you to be 100%. And the same for your daughter, it will take time. In my opinion her husband didn't leave soon enough. I'm hoping that with your help she may find the same comfort and inspiration in growing things that I have found in difficult times. I believe that as important as a love is he does not complete your life. You find that completeness in yourself and then share it with someone who is worthy. My very best wishes to you and all your family.

Dear Florence, I am so glad that I wandered over to this forum today and saw your message. At least they found the problem and now you can start to heal. I agree with Pam, he didn't leave soon enough. He didn't have the decency to face his problems and snuck out like a thief in the night. Not admirable and not the type of man she deserves or could ever trust again. Take care of yourself, dear lady. Prayers for a quick recovery for your hip and for peace and strength for your daughter.

Florence, I'm sorry you're hurting so bad. I'm glad they've figured out what it is and you'll be better soon. I'm really sorry too about your daughter, it's crushing when things happen to your adult children and you still find you can't 'fix' everything for them. But, oh how you wish you could spare them the pain.
You'll be in my thoughts and prayers, you're a very special person. I hold the image of you always with that quilt you made and your grandson with it around his shoulders.
