Anyone's dog ever had a 'cherry' eye?
Comments (5)Thanks for your responses. The vet said that if a dog doesn't need surgery for anything else, the usual recommendation is to watch it and do nothing, unless it becomes worse and causes problems. But since we'll be spaying our dog around May, it can be repaired during that surgery, if she still has it. At least doing it at the same time avoids having two seperate operations. I was just curious if anyone's dog had one that spontaneously disappeared, as the vet says that sometimes happens....See MoreIf you had to choose one of these dog foods
Comments (15)Since your options are so limited, you might consider using an online source. Shipping is high, but base price is lower than stores and they often offer at least a 10% coupon. I live in the boonies, but my local feed store carries California Natural and the local garden center carries Wellness. My preferred food is Canidae and unfortunately, my closest Canidae supplier is a local doggy daycare that i'd prefer not to support in any way, but the Canidae is much cheaper than the other super premiums and it would be silly for me to pay $31 in shipping each month (80# of food) I hope to convince the local feed store to investigate carrying Canidae - if you have a feed store close, you may want to look into having them special order a quality food. Natural Balance is not one of my favorite foods as the main ingredient is grain or veg rather than a quality meat meal. In the example above, chicken is listed first, but its water content is counted as weight and once water is removed (making it chicken meal) it is likely that this chicken would be more accurately placed somewhat further down the ingredient list, so rice is really the main ingredient. And for what it's worth, I don't see beet pulp as an ingredient in Canidae ALS (which is also what I feed) Ingredient list: Chicken Meal, Turkey Meal, Brown Rice, White Rice, Lamb Meal, Chicken Fat (preserved with Mixed Tocopherols), Herring Meal, Flax Seed, Sun Cured Alfalfa Meal, Sunflower Oil, Chicken, Lecithin, Monocalcium Phosphate, Potassium Chloride, Choline Chloride, Linoleic Acid, Rosemary Extract, Sage Extract, Dried Enterococcus Faecium, Dried Lactobacillus Acidophilus Fermentation Product, Dried Aspergillus Oryzae Fermentation Extract, Dried Bacillus Subtilis Fermentation Extract, Inulin (from Chicory root), Saccharomyces Cerevisiae Fermentation Solubles, Yucca Schidigera Extract, Mixed Tocopherols (source of Vitamin E), Zinc Amino Acid Chelate, Manganese Amino Acid Chelate, Iron Amino Acid Chelate, Copper Amino Acid Chelate, Cobalt Amino Acid Chelate, Vitamin A Supplement, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Ascorbic Acid (source of Vitamin C), Niacin, Thiamine Mononitrate (Vitamin B1), Riboflavin (source of B2), Beta Carotene, Calcium Pantothenate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6), Calcium Iodate, Folic Acid, D-Biotin, Sodium Selenite, Papaya, Vitamin B12 Supplement...See More1 year old dog continence problems
Comments (2)What breed is she? I would definitely take her to the vet and have her thoroughly checked for any major issues. I think it's important to first rule out if she has a neurological or physical condition causing her to be incontinent since one would usually expect to see improvement after all the training you've done this past year The fact she is submissive and fearful are two issues that can be difficult to deal with so it's important not to push her into situations that make it worse. If she checks out to be healthy, the vet may have a behaviorist he can recommend to help you with her issues, but one suggestion I have is for you to observe her closely and decide if going on the runs with you seem to stress her out. If so, try eliminating the runs/bike ride and instead take her for a walk on leash. She sounds like a dog that needs a lot of quiet and calm in her life. In the meantime, I would definitely use the doggie diapers. There are different brands and styles......so find which works best for you. Comments (18)boy, this has been on my mind for wks now! I'm going to be putting up bedroom curtains soon (as soon as I get enough nerve to attempt it) and I'm wondering about that! In the past I've had wood paneling walls and didn't give it a thought (1 house did have plaster tho...). maybe this place is bothering me because dbf just paid to have holes filled and have it painted and I don't want to ruin it all. I've been hoping there'll be a stud running up either side of the windows - think I'll luck in on that? There isn't any wood trim around the windows here. I was planning to go about 6" out on either side of the windows. Maybe I shouldn't go that far out? I'd better buy some of those pop out screws before I start - just in case I need them. I sure don't want to hammer anything into the wall - I'm sure to cause half the wall to come tumbling down! maybe velcro would work ... lol!...See MoreHU-345885400
