We're getting a new baby!

We have decided to get a fur baby.

She was born september 10 and her name is Sassi.

Since we have always had poodles, we opted to

get another one.

She is a cutie and we can't wait to welcome her home.

Her coloring is unusual because she is a (Parti-Poodle)

She is black and white and will be small like Chelsea.

OH my gosh...is she cute.Is she a toy? She looks to be part Maltese. What do you think? When does she get become part of your family and by the way,what a wonderful way to start your life in a new home.

Hey McHarris, don't I know about "popcorn"! I have a Euphorbia leuconeura that seems to be in flower all the time and I have seed everywhere. I have sooooo many volunteers with them coming up between the floor boards in the greenhouse, other pots just everywhere... you know they're a weed....LOL Stush, the seeds are typical Euphorbia seeds. They have an avocado seed shape but significantly smaller; even smaller than E. obesa or my aforementioned E. leuconeura seeds. I place gauze netting over the pods as they mature so I can catch them and plant as soon as possible after they open because they have a relatively short shelf life.

flound, Thanks for clarifying your position. Your original post left me with the impression that anyone else who makes a long range predicition automatically is above reproach, and only Farmer's Almanac was suspect. As you say, it's tough enough for them to get it right for the next 3 to 5 days, much less 2 to 3 months. Any long range predictions certainly need to be taken with a large grain of salt. Weather forecasting is not an exact science, probably won't be for the foreseeable future. The best they can do is make a SWAG (scientific wild-a@@ guess). As for looking for a religious argument, no thank you. I don't care for that either and honestly don't even know where you got that from. My only point is that your very approach to this is also your 'fail-safe': If they get it wrong, it's a case of "See, I told you so"....but if they get it right, all you have to do is take a step back and say "Well, even fortune tellers and psychics get it right at least some of the time". By the same token, I could use the very same argument, but in reverse, to defend my position. We can both agree that any forecast beyond a few days is being 'out on a limb'. As stated in my previous post, a prediction is just that. Not a foregone conclusion or absolute fact. As for what I believe, I believe I'll look at the long range forecasts, hope for the best but prepare for the worst. I honestly feel that we are not going to get off as lightly this winter as we did last year. If that turns out to be wrong, I'll certainly come back here next spring and say so. Whatever comes our way this winter, we, and our palms, will just have to deal with it. As oppalm alluded to, Mother Nature is gonna do what she wants to do. She has her own schedule and doesn't pay much attention to the predictions : )

Everyone- thanks for your comments. I'm getting so excited and I am so happy to hear that most of you think the contrast of the island and floors works. That was my feeling, but it always helps to have others opinions. KA- I chose GO for the countertops. Its the light version and I am headed to the stone warehouse this morning to lay out the templates on our slabs. EEK! The brown in the GO should pull the perimeter cabs and island together nicely. Granite will be installed on Friday. Piglet- Are you looking at Brookhaven? all cabinets are the edgemont door and the top drawers are a 5 piece drawer instead of a slab door. The perimeter cabs are antique white. HTH

SPOILERS AHEAD: I believe Young Griff is who they say he is: The son of Rhaegar, snuck out of the Red Keep just in time, raised by Rhaegar's good friend Jon Connington. Am I right? Only time will tell. I don't know what the duck means. One of Young Griff's attendants is a sellsword nicknamed Duck, and I have been confused as to WHY his foster father -- former hand of the king, experienced warrior extrordinaire -- hired someone else to train Young Griff. I mean, he himself is capable, and the more people who know Young Griff's real identity, the more danger he is in. And Tyrion commented that Duck was "less than he seemed". If Jamie showing us the duck isn't a hint that Duck will be important later in the book, I don't know what it means. What Duck might do, however, is anyone's guess. I agree that her time at the Eyrie has been the happiest time of Sansa's adult life. Her childhood was better, of course, but her eyes were also closed to the real world at that point. I agree that Sansa and Tyrion -- even if Sansa were capable of overlooking his physical shortcomings, no pun intended -- are poorly matched. He's much more intellectual than she is, and she is much more social. Too bad the marriage plans for Sansa and Willis fell through; I think that would've been a good thing for her. I'd say her marriage to Tyrion is invalid because it was never consummated, but none of us have read the Seven Pointed Star -- the holy book of their faith -- so we can't say with confidence whether they consider the marriage valid or not. She certainly doesn't seem to consider herself Lady Lannister. Sansa can't lie to Ramsey about being married to Tyrion. If she did, he'd rape her anyway (remember of whom we're speaking), and when he realized she's a virgin, he'd know the marriage wasn't consummated. In the book Ramsey marries Arya, or at least he thinks he does. The truth is that Little Finger sent Jeyne Poole (Sansa's childhood best friend -- remember Little Finger, who owns a bunch of brothels, offered to "find a place" for Jeyne?) to the North wearing Stark colors, with instructions to say she is Arya. Everyone believes the real Arya is dead, so they'll never be caught in their lie. Theon knows, but he is too terrified to tell the truth, even when he sees Ramsey abusing the girl. Why do the Boltons want this marriage so much? They're ravenous to make their stranglehold on the North official, so marrying Ramsey (heir to the Dreadfort, natural son of Roose Bolton) to the girl they believe to be the last living Stark essentially gives them control of the North. In the books, Sansa is still in the Eyrie with Little Finger, who is making plans to marry her to a never-before-mentioned character called Harry the Heir. Through a round-about train of likely events, he is sickly Robin Arryan's heir, so he is almost certain to inherit the Vale and the Eyrie. He is also described as handsome and good, though he likes to run around with the ladies. He will accept Sansa in a heartbeat; first because she's an ideal wife -- beautiful, well-trained to run his household; second because his position would be considerably strengthened by marrying the former lord's niece. Will this happen? Only time will tell. Oh, yes, the books are good! So much better than the movie series! Intricate backplots, complicated characters, and you never quite know who's telling the truth.

Marda, she is a poodle.
She looks more like her mom than her dad.
Jaz, I'm not sure exactly when it will be.
She is getting her shots and has to get a little
bigger before I can pick her up.

Here is a picture of her mom, not sure how old she was
in this picture. Her mom and dad are 4 lbs so she will be small.

Oh,of course. You wrote parti poodle and I thought you said part poodle. Yep..poodle alright,just look at her mom's little face and you can see the intelligence just oozing out of her.

Well, she is beautiful and I had to contain myself several times on your house thread from blurting out that you need "one more thing" to make your house complete. rofl. You already knew that.

I've never seen one so unique looking. My folks had a poodle as I was growing up and there is never a dull moment with one around. All of animals (five of them) are geriatric, and although I love them so much, I miss the furball experience.

Jan, don't assume she'll be as small! Gracie, my Pomeranian, had a mom who was five pounds and dad who was four pounds. When Gracie got to be full-sized, she was THIRTEEN pounds! lolol She's not fat and we have no idea what happened in THAT gene pool. All we know is that she's a healthy, happy girl who weighs just a teensy bit more than her parents. lol

Wonderful pup!! Is she a teacup or a miniature, Jan? We had a miniature that lived to be 21 - her name was Gypsy. Clever and lovely little dogs.

She will be either a teacup or tiny toy.
It's hard to tell which she will be this early.

It will be fun to watch her grow and her personality
develope. Poodles are amazing dogs.

Mum looks like a toy - too big for a teacup I think. I like the toys better myself, the teacups are just a little bit too twee for my personal taste and they get lost underfoot easily.

The dividing lines most often go: toy 6-9 lbs; tiny toy 4-6 lbs; teacup under 4 lbs.

If she's registered, you can get a geneology, which will give you a bit of a guide to her heritage in size. No promises, though. Nature persists in selecting some genes at random.

I got Lalee when she was 3 weeks old, because the owner/breeder was going to euthanize her. Even at that tender age, being twice the size of her littermates, it was obvious her size was a 12-generation throw-back. Those previous generations were all teacups, weighing an average of 3 pounds, except for a 5lb g-g-g-etc-greatgrandsire. She was the most intelligent, and best-natured dog I've ever had.

She is a cutie, but I'm trying to wrap my mind around a dog that is only 4 lbs full grown. I've got cats that way four times that much & my dog is 60 lbs. She will be easy to transport - that's for sure & that, at times, I can see as a distinct blessing.

Chelsea was small, Andie, and our cat was
bigger. Neil used to get Chelsea to eat by telling her
that Puddy (the cat) would get her food.
Puddy wouldn't even come in the house but if she turned up
her nose at her food, Neil would say "where's Puddy"
and Chelsea's head would pop up and she had her food
bowl empty before you could say Puddy again.

Meldy, you are right and I do have the geneology
background. No surprises are expected but you never know.
