Hi Judy and thank you for your wishes, your blooms are beautiful. I agree with Kate the cupped roses are lovely whatever they are. I'm glad you enjoy my rose pics, yours are very enjoyable also. Thank you Celeste, it's always nice to know I touch someone with my love on minis. I've told you before I saw the roses sitting on the table at the nursery waiting for a ship date to you and admired what you were acquiring:) Very beautiful roses, tell me which rose did you find for Grace? If it was Grace Seward by any chance, you will be very pleased with that one. It looks like doves in flight. I spent hours looking at all of your pics initially, I believe I have a couple of roses in my garden thanks to you too:) I'll tell you what I did Kate, even though the minis might look dead, don't give up on them, keep watering them along with the others in your spring, as own root roses, they can come back from the canes and the roots. They're pretty tough roses, so don't pull them out too early and give them up as dead too soon. I know this from experience and can show you from pics. Judith, I thank you so much for your kind words and we are keeping a few that have been able to cope on their own, but all the burdens of rosegrowing which we have experienced over the past few years have naturally pared the garden way back. We have had our share of RMV,the ravages of RRD, a myriad of fungi and insects, a blight that killed most of the Noisettes, and in the past few years, such very late and hard freezes in late spring that pruned some roses so far back, they never rebounded, so the garden began to look pathetic, and we knew we were not going to be able to maintain the laborious physical and monetary schedule we had, in the past, while acquiring so many roses and maintaining them. We needed a gardener 2-3 days per week, and sometimes more often, lots of fertilizer, pruning, using chemicals and our water bill was rivaling that of the national debt. We are slowly replacing our losses with a few evergreens, conifers, deciduous ornamental small trees and some lovely ornamental shrubs, e.g., camellias, tea olives, gardenias, etc. We still have many climbers and ramblers remaining, enough so that we will have a beautiful late April/early May show. We still love roses as much as ever and I love coming here to see what everyone else is doing but in our area secondary to the condition alluded to above, it is, unfortunately, a decision we did not come to lightly but growing and caring for hundreds of roses is a love we must leave to others.

Oh, wait a minute ladies ..... I wasn't clear! Turning 60 isn't the problem (hopefully you'll all get to do that), it's the ADMITTING to 60 (both to yourself and others) that presents the problem! Just skip it - hey, we all fib about age anyway, so what's the difference? When I was in my early 50's (and, by all accounts looked much less than that) I took immense delight in greatly exaggerating my age to nosy inquirers ...... I always fibbed way upwards and got a kick out of seeing their reaction! The way I figured it, they were rude to even ask so my having fun with the answer was warranted! Hehehehe (insert evil grin)! It's only a number - we all need to have fun with it!

Thank you again, everyone! Jessicavanderhoff, with Winter Sowing, your seeds are planted inside of a milk jug (or other plastic container). Some of my more tender annuals (Cosmos, Mexican Sunflower, Dill and a few others) look as if they did get a little cold but all my perennial seeds and hardy annuals held up fine! Sharon, I'm glad that I do :). People tell me I'm a funny person. A sense of humor is one of the best things anyone can have. Teresa, it's a gorgeous cake with an even more gorgeous flavor LOL.
