Phal Spike Question

Hi there. You all are a great source of information for me, so I'm hoping you can help this time. I'm sure this has been asked, but I get confused on the terminology so I wanted to show and tell. I have this Phal whose bloom spike finished blooming and turned brown about a month ago. I was waiting for it to just fall off, but now I'm thinking that won't happen and I should trim it. Here's a pic

A bit of history, the phal was knocked over awhile ago, and it grew a new bloom spike at the node below where I trimmed the broken part. So, where do I trim now? Just the brown bloom part, or on the main vertical spike below where the brown part is? Or do I trim all the way back? I'd like to see blooms again.

Thanks! And please forgive if I used any wrong terms, I'm learning still!
