Lilo...I am sorry....picking lots of sunflowers. The rose garden is full of them planted by the chipmunks.
It's hard to have dear ones sick and far away.

I'm sorry to hear this, though somewhat relieved that there are others in your family who are in a position to offer what help they may.

A year and a half ago your request for Ron's sunflowers came when I was seeding my garden, so I sent positive thoughts your way as I pushed the sunflower seeds into the soil. This spring, they reseeded themselves and I decided to leave them be. They are just beginning to open up.

Here is a photo, taken just this afternoon, of one of the sunflowers. Its parent was planted while offering your family positive and healing thoughts. May the second generation prove equally restorative.

I'm so sorry to hear of your sister's ill health, Lilo. I haven't planted any sunflowers this year due to my move, but I'll gladly offer up all the sunflowers on my new curtains. Please keep us posted on how she's doing.

Lilo, how sorry I am to hear this news. Poor health is always sad in ones family but particularly so and difficult with the elderly and with strokes.

Lilo, there are no words to tell you how sorry I am to hear
the news about your sister. When our loved ones are too far
away from us that we get our updates second hand is
so frustrating. My heart goes out to you and your sisters.

Thank you all for your outpouring of support and the sunflowers, both visual and virtual. I have been in touch with sister C2, who is in touch with Michael. Things don't look too good at this time, but she is still functioning,, although very impaired.
I had my daughter Linda and grandson Trevor visit for the day, that was a nice distraction. Trevor rode Joann's quad all over the place, Linda, Joann and I had some good visiting time, grilled chicken, ate corn from Linda's garden and tomatoes from Linda's garden - 100 miles south makes a big difference on how things grow, my 'maters are still green.
It all sounds trivial, but it is part of life as lived and Trevor has turned into a fine young man.
The circle of life goes round and round...as it should.
I will know more tomorrow.

Lilo, So sorry to hear of your sister's serious ilness...I remember her well from the video and admired her strength and determination in thinking of the future not the past. I'm glad you were able to gather your family around you today...best sunflowers to you all. josh

Lilo, sorry to hear. I do remember others in my family who have "recovered" from strokes and regained funcation of loss. My strongest hope is that she will regain what she has lost. Take care of all of you.

My DB is in bad shape following several series of strokes the last several years. He is only 61 but can barely speak. He is a genius, and his mind still races at 10,000 miles a minute, but he can't get the words out. He is in an adult foster care home. They take great care of him there. The "mom" dotes on his every need and is firm with him when he is cantankerous - he can be a bit of a stinker sometimes. Even their adult son is good to him and takes him out to movies, the library, book store, antique stores, etc. So I can understand what you're going through with your sister so far away.
