Great pics! I think you many not need to apply any more phosphorus. That Greenview mulch has some phosphorus (3% I think) and I'm sure your starter fertilizer does too. Figure out how many pounds of phosphorus you have already applied: if 3% of a 30lb. bag of the greenview mulch is phosphorus, then each 30 lb. bag contains .9 lbs. phosphorus. If you used one bag per 600 feet the Greenview by itself gave you a little less than 1 lb. per thousand feet. And I imagine your starter was relatively high phosphorus too and probably made up the difference, but definitely check it out before thinking about adding any more. If you have applied enough phosphorus, look for a zero phosphorus fertilizer to use for the rest of the season - you don't want to overdo it. Greenview sells them I think.

Whoops, forgot to add, the greenview mulch is also 1% potassium, and presumably your starter contains some too. So I would figure out how much of that you applied as well before thinking about adding more. You may still need more, and if you do look at those zero phosphorus fertilizers and find one that will make up your remaining potassium requirement.

If the numbers don't work out, I don't know how to add just potassium, but I'm sure someone else here does.

paulinct, thanks for the heads up. I am not sure how much this mattters, but my soil test did say that I was low on Phosphorus and Potassium. The TB with Iron is a 29-2-4 and the Winterguard is a 22-2-14. I did apply the starter at somewhat of a reduced rate do to the fact that I was using the Greenview.

Hey eastpenna, I saw your note on the soil test, what I was trying to say is that you may already have done what the soil test recommended by applying the penn mulch and starter fertilizer. I suspect that if you were to apply either the TB or the Winterguard at this point you would have gone way over the recommended phosphorus addition, which you don't want to do.

But the only way to know for sure is to calculate how many pounds of the stuff you have put down already, per thousand feet.

And if you need more, you will need to calculate how many pounds of the stuff you would be adding, per thousand feet, by using those products over the recommended coverage area.

Actually I was just sitting here and looking at that and at my soil test . It is funny how they listed it. I have 0.9 lbs/1000 sq ft. of Phosphorus. They said to apply 1 lb/1000 sq ft. Then on the last page of the report it says that adequate levels of phosphorus is 2-4 pounds per thousand sq. ft.

I think I should be ok, the next to fertilizers are only 2 pounds per 100. I have not done the math yet, but I think that each round is only going to be about 10 lbs of total product weight each for that area.

Most of my germination is right around/under those penn mulch pellets, so they must be doing something. Same for you?

Glad to hear that it's going well!! It's going pretty good over here, when you look across the lawn you see a nice tinge of green. Some spots are better than others, but it is only day 10, and to be honest I wasn't even expecting to see anything at all until 14-21 days. I will add another picture at day 14.

My biggest problem right now is the SQUIRRELS, they just have No respect for a wanna-be nice lawn. I guess if I catch one he would make some good organic matter LOL.

Squirrels are killing me too. I saw your post in that varmints thread and meant to respond but lost track. At first I thought it was skunks, but then the other day I saw an extremely hyper squirrel doing major violence to my seedbed. I was all ready to grab a net and fire up the woodchipper, but thankfully I thought better of that...

Oh, and to add insult to injury, while I was looking close at some of my germination I noticed some ants. Lots of ants. Each carrying what looks for all the world like a KBG seed. Crikey! And they are building skyscrapers in my seedbed. I want so bad to get out there and spray some ant murdering compound, but think I'll do more damage to my 7 day old grasslings in the process. So I sit and watch, and wait...
