Wow - all of that from one summer of a bit of neglect? Does your lawn adjoin a woods, or is your next door neighbor seriously neglecting his property? I can't picture how you'd get the seeds for all of those weed types without a very serious source of weed seed nearby!

I think I'd go a little stronger on the weed killer than Weed-B-Gon, which is mostly 2-4D. I see ground ivy, clover and even a wild violet in the pictures. Are the pictures recent? I'd swear I see wild strawberry in one of the pictures, but it wouldn't be putting out fruit this time of year. All of the ones I mentioned are going to laugh at 2-4D. Look on the label for "trichlopyr" in the product to beat those nasties, and even then you will probably have to hit it multiple times. Use 2-4D for the easier weeds. You may run out of growing season before you get all the weeds. Where the weeds outnumber the grass heavily, you might be better off with Round-Up to kill everything quickly, and then reseed (maybe too late in Zone 5 now).

Thanks for the advice. yowza is right. I was hoping to avoid using the heavy stuff, as I have kids. ANy alternative? Should I till it all up and then start over? I'm afraid I dont have much choice here but to use the hard stuff. Once I lay down the trichlopyr, how long before I can reseed? As you mention, I may be running out of time.

Weed #2:
I don't know what it is but it is NOXIOUS for sure!! I just pulled up a bunch in my backyard (close to a wooded area) and it's viney and spreads everywhere, so get on that ASAP! It wasn't too hard to pull up, but you have to look for all of the individual vines that have taken off.

That is a variety of mock strawberry I believe in the top pic.

DO NOT till the yard. Its full of weed seed and tilling wil give many of those seeds an even bigger advantage over the turf.

Couple of non-chem options are available but be aware that they will require follow up.

There is a vinegar product called Burnout that is a non selective herbicide. It'll kill any annual it touches and quickly wilt the leaf of most perennials assuming your weather is still fairly warm. Check the label to see how long you have to wait before overseeding a treated area but its not more than a couple of days if memory serves.

Weed torch. This is the nuclear option. Rittenhouse sells several torches, some with exposed flame and others with heating elements. Do a web search and see if this might be your kind of thing.

In your kind of situation the concept is the same regardless of what you choose. You'll need to create a vacum and then fill it with seed or sod.

I agree with andy10917 use 2-4-D and triclopyr herbicides.

But first, spray all the weeds with Miracle-Gro. Wait 4 days then spray your first herbicide ... then spray a second time 10 days later. The fertilizer accelerates the intake of the herbicide into the weed root system.

Follow the instructions on all the chemicals carefully.

While these weeds may linger until it snows...they will be history next spring.

thanks for the advice. IOWA50126, I like the suggestion to spray Miaracle-Grow first. I went ahead and did that but couldnt wait 4 days and just sprayed 2-4-D the same day. I'm already starting to see some browning. Now I want to use the triclopyr but cant find it (except online). Local hardware nor home depot carry this stuff. Any suggestions? I live outside NYC.

Your Home Depot might have triclopyr as Ortho's Weed-B-Gon for Chickweed, Clover and Oxalis.
