Wow - all of that from one summer of a bit of neglect? Does your lawn adjoin a woods, or is your next door neighbor seriously neglecting his property? I can't picture how you'd get the seeds for all of those weed types without a very serious source of weed seed nearby! I think I'd go a little stronger on the weed killer than Weed-B-Gon, which is mostly 2-4D. I see ground ivy, clover and even a wild violet in the pictures. Are the pictures recent? I'd swear I see wild strawberry in one of the pictures, but it wouldn't be putting out fruit this time of year. All of the ones I mentioned are going to laugh at 2-4D. Look on the label for "trichlopyr" in the product to beat those nasties, and even then you will probably have to hit it multiple times. Use 2-4D for the easier weeds. You may run out of growing season before you get all the weeds. Where the weeds outnumber the grass heavily, you might be better off with Round-Up to kill everything quickly, and then reseed (maybe too late in Zone 5 now). Best of luck!

Carefully remove the corm from the pot and wash it. Check it very closely for any signs of life. There may be some very small new growth sprouting. If you don't see any sign of new growth, stick you finger into the core of the stump, down into the corm. If rotted and mushy, it is probably dead. When I removed the mulch from my musella lasiocarpa in April 1st, a stump broke off but it had 6 tiny sprouts the size of a hat pin head on the edge. I now have 6 one foot tall plants. Bananas will recover even under poor conditions. One more hint, plant it is a black plastic pot and the pot as much sun exposure as possible. The black pot will warm the soil and help with sprouting.

Hey!!! I live in Millsap and YES Mother Nature is headed our way!!! Do you know what type of Banana you bought? I dig mine up and overwinter them under the house(58* yr round) .. If you leave them in cut them back and MULCH MULCH MULCH!!! If you take them out just clean the dirt off and store them someplace dry and won't freeze.. OR you could pot them and bring them in the house and keep them comfy for the winter.. BURRR!!! Blessings Chena

The person who said to live with it is exactly correct. We have a 680-sqft composite deck and we purposely built it around a 40-ft Norway pine. We were managing sap removal fairly well until the summer of 2021 when pretty much the entire deck got covered, and I mean covered, in sap. Couldn't find even 1 square foot without sap on it. Never seen anything like it. Even our Hannamint furniture took a beating. So we cut the tree down a few weeks ago. We have tried Goo Gone, soapy water, power washing, composite deck cleaner, scrubbing, rubbing, scraping. With the density of the droplets from 2021 we are ending up smearing the sap so instead of a million little white sap stains, now the sap is essentially pressed into the fine groves in the deck mold...so a broader white spot appears. So, it's either live with the small white spots or live with the remnants of the rubbing. Neither is ideal. We are simply going to give it a washing with the Krud Cutter deck and fencc cleaner to remove the surface stickiness and live with a white spotted deck. That is, until I call to have someone come and rplace 100% of the boards. That's the only way to get a totally sap free deck for us, is to replace it all.
