Microscope power for compost tea? Clarification

I forgot the '?' mark in my last posting but wanted to get an idea of the level of magnification needed to see some of the resultant aerated compost tea bacteria, fungi, amoebae, ciliates (see borderbarb, I'm gittin edukated). I'm not considering becoming a microbiologist by any means but thought it would be interesting/educational/fun to take a look to see if my brew is as prolific as I'm hoping. I've learned alot from this forum including the recipes I followed in my two initial batches and thank those who responded earlier. I really don't want to spend alot $$$, around $100 if feasible. I figured I'd need to invest in a 2nd hand microscope, slides, stains and some remedial biology study time. If anyone has any more experience/advice to share I would certainly appreciate it.
