Can't reply to your email - you need to change your member settings so others can "see" your email address. The google spreadsheet app lets you choose your sharing options. Public is only one option. The others are private and to show anyone who has a link. Essentially, you would send the link instead of the sheet. The benefit is that us with the link would be able to see changes you make to the sheet, or maybe contribute if you enable that. Neat app. Dennis

Yes, we have considered a one story....but it was cost prohibitive. -Musicgal- Yes, they are amazing....I want one! -Virgilcarter- I have considered 10-12 ceilings on the entire first floor, but am afraid it would make the house difficult to heat. We have to heat about 5 months out of the year. Robin: Yes, it's a walkout basement ( on the south facing side) Annie- I've seen a lot of houses with the "elevator shaft" look....I really don't care for a full two story vault, no matter how big the room is. We love our land and our view, I'm planning on having lots of windows and I'm sure that will make the house feel open. I've just been in panic mode lately. Lyfia- You're right, I may be putting too much $ into the kitchen ceiling. My reasoning was that the kitchen often gets too hot and I thought vaulting up to 12' may make it cooler. Also, the kitchen is in the back and can line up with the porch ( to keep the house rectangular).

I'm having more trouble recently too. I think our bodies know when Winter is coming, and we're supposed to slow down. I got out my old Bright Light the other day, hoping it would give me a little help. I'm also coming off Zoloft, because its giving me too many irregular heartbeats, so I'm not looking forward to the next few months. Hopefully on December 21, when the days start getting longer, we'll get a little energy back.

Thank you for your advice! I'm from the Philippines. We have general building laws, but I'm not aware of any rules regarding toilet clearance. Btw, we plan to put a curved shower rod and curtain since we're pretty aware of the space problem. My husband insists on a bathroom for every bedroom so we had to compromise with the bathroom space. The floor tile is called "Inverary Rojo" by Plaza tiles. It's a Spanish brand, I think. For the other bathroom, we're using "Inverary Gris", which is a blue and white version. Your design advice is great! Thank you everyone! It never occurred to me to just "go with the flow" and just add decor that mirrors the Terra cotta and teal colors. I think that would really improve things. I'll also have to look into changing the color of the grout to match the mosaic tiles. That was my initial idea as well.
