It's got stuff in it now! (Warning - Lots of Photos!)

I just had to post the pictures... I was going to wait until I get the real china in it (my grandmother's, which needs washed and that won't happen until at least Saturday) but I just couldn't wait. I think it looks SO pretty. :-) The Moonglow on the top shelf REALLY glows, doesn't it?!?!?

Glad you're all liking the photos. Posting more soon in a new thread.. Kippy, you must get Buff Beauty. I love this rose and have 4 of them even with my limited space. The fragrance is wonderful. OK in part shade. Takes a few years to get going so be patient. Carol, I've got 2 Penelopes. Also a great shade rose. Ingrid and Carol, not ready for wide shots yet as much of the garden is also pot ghettos until bands get established so it's all rather crazy here. mzstitch, I purchased Belle Isis from Rogue Valley Roses as a huge 1 gallon plant. The blooms start out pinker than fade to white. It's a once blooming rose. Flowers last a few days. Pamela, thanks for the warning. You'd helped me decide where to plant it. Belle Isis will go into one of the new 25 gallon above ground pots in the new front garden area that's my solution to the invading cypress roots and she can sucker to her heart's content then I'll have suckers to give away. Jeri, I really love Alika and am glad my conditions are allowing me to grow Gallicas. I'd be sad without them. But you can grow the Teas which stick their tongues out at me and shrivel away. I had hopes for the Lady Roberts from Sac Cemetery but she's sulking and her blooms don't open well. Thanks again for everyone's compliments, Diane

Here's some of my favorits so far this year Mystical rainbow, first year for this one, and its just amazing Same for this one, im really impressed, just love it so far Oh- it's Raptor Rap Baracuda Bay very pretty flowers, just not many of them yet. Caprician Fiesta -always out does it's self At first Blush - I think this is my absoulte favorite pink that I have. Just so elegant and pretty. Pumpkin Perfect- the color of orange sherbert mouth watering! Trahlyta- Very pretty bloom, low bud count this year Watchyl Digital Scream - still only a double fan, but has been blooming for two weeks already-sorry this one's sideways. Last flight out- beautiful, beautiful plant Big kiss- i love doubles Well ill take a break, enjoy -Jessica

Thanks, Janice, that's a great idea! I could get some cement paint and paint the squares to match the color of the mulch. I need to do some rearranging of the hostas too. For one thing, I want to plant my new Grand Marquee where I can sit and watch it grow. It is awesome! Scar, Oh yeah! That auger is the only way I make holes these days! Mary, make sure that you post pics of your new creation when it's finished. I'd love to see what you've decided to do with your wooded corner.

Sorry, David, it's hard to take a picture of myself, LOL, and I was so busy in the kitchen I didn't even think to take a picture of Mother! Gina, that is indeed a "spray on" tan. You know she didn't get that tan in Michigan in May, it's 51F and raining right now, not much beach time. :-) RR, it was a bit crazy but it all came together in the end, although I only got out of the kitchen long enough to watch the cake cutting, the bouquet and garter toss and I had ONE dance with the groom. Other than that, it was all cooking, serving and cleaning up. Ah well, it kept me out of trouble and it was Ashley's party, not mine. She was happy, so it's all good! David, I do have a long weekend and I think maybe I'll make Elery take me out for dinner for my birthday. I'm sure not baking a cake... Oh, and for those who wanted a picture of Bruvver, before he ate cake and lasagna and had punch and ate too much candy from the candy buffet and threw up, while his shirt was still white, here's Bruvver: Annie Annie

Tisha, that is absolutely beautiful. I'm not familiar with "Moonglow", but it's lovely.

What is your grandmother's china? We had a set of my DH's grandmother's china, which we got after her death, but since it was used only twice in over 30 years, we gave it to our daughter. She did put it in her china cabinet, but I doubt she uses it, either. It's almost too delicate.

That "Moonglow" stuff is stunning! It definitely begs to be lit and displayed like that.

The difference between "before" and "after" is amazing. I would not have looked twice at the china cabinet before because of the darkness of the wood, but the detail and dimensionality of the doors really stands out once you neutralize the visual noise that the wood grain was. I like it a lot.

MWheel, my Grandmother's china is called Silver Moon and it's by Warwick. I'll attach a link at the bottom, where you can see an example of it.

Jazmynsmom, the best compliment I've gotten lately was when a friend came over and was looking at the cabinet when it was only halfway done. She said, "I never would have recognized it's potential!" and I felt flattered. I thought I'd always had a pretty good eye for that sort of thing. :-)

You guys are going to have to suffer through more pictures after this weekend, I'm sure... LOL I hope to get my grandmother's china washed and put in there.

It's is absolutely great. You and your intended did a great job and I bet your grandmother would be tickled pink to have her dishes shown in such a manner. I'd luv to see more pictures.
