Seed for bare spot (Catskills, NY State)

I'm the new owner of a weekend house. The previous owner used a part of the lawn to park his truck, so there's a bare spot I'd like to cover up.

In previous posts I was advised to seed the area in the fall, since I can't be there to water. But we're getting a lot of rain, so I may spend a few bucks and seed this area now, since it isn't very large. I can always do it again in the fall if it doesn't work now.

Question is, what is the best seed for my area? I believe I have fescue, and can plant that, but I see that a "contractors blend" is also available. Any suggestions appreciated.
