Weeds and Clovers on Bermuda -- Remedies??

Other than pulling these out by hand, can anyone recommend a herbicide by name [specifically for Bermuda] that won't detroy/burn the existing and new growth Bermuda?

Also please provide the proper steps, ex:

1. Pull what you can by hand

2. Use XXX herbicide XXX times every XXX days/weeks

This is for an established lawn -- no sod/new seed concerns.

Something with 2,4-d like weed-b-gone max should do it. Just don't use it above 85.

weed -b-gone at half strength if over 85. try it on a small area to see how your grass will handle it. Next year put down a pre-emergant in the spring to prevent weeds. Also in the fall. You may be able to do it now but i am not sure about a summer application.

Depends on the weed and what you want to get rid of. I think you are keeping the bermuda, is that right? Besides clover, what weeds do you have?

Looks like clover parsley piert, and plantain. Right now it doesn't matter what it is. Wait til you get a good hard freeze and let the Bermuda go completely dormant. Once asleep hit anything green with Round Up. Or if you cannot wait use Tri-Mec, but it will not be too effective in colder weather if even at all. Next early spring and fall you can use pre-emergence to head it off.

I think the clover might indeed choke out your perennials after awhile if you don't keep it in check. I can understand why you like it though. I love clover (white early clover) in the lawn. It looks nice and doesn't need as much water as real grass, and even remains perky and green during the hot summer months! However, if I see it popping up in the gardens I pull it. I know it would get out of control in my flower beds! It all depends on how much work you are willing to put into keeping the clover in check. If you don't mind pulling every month or two go ahead and clear the clover away from around each plant as you had planned. If it were me, I would go ahead and take it all out and save myself all that work. But again, that is just me ;-) You could also treat your clover as more of a 'cover crop' than a perennial groundcover. Many people do cover crops in their veggie gardens to add nitrogen and other nutrients into the soil. They plant seed of the clover (or other) in fall and let it grow on until the spring when they cut back and till the clover into the soil. It adds all the nutrients but is pretty much gone when planting time comes around. Hope that helped a little, though I rather doubt it, LOL! Ps. Look at it this way....clovers in the lawn...feed the lawn. Clovers are nitrogen fixers. It once upon a time widely accepted in lawns (sometimes still is)for that very reason. Here is a link that might be useful: Clover Lawns

Its my understand that bermuda type grass cannot stand up to being given a broad leafed weed killer.
Weeds, as well as the grass itself, will be badly affected.

How to manage such a lawn with weeds....

grow another type grass that can be given a herbicide without danger.

Huh? where did you get that piece of misinformation? There are very few herbicides that will even phase Bermuda, and Bermuda grass eats broad-leaf weed killers for dessert. Round Up will just make it angry and will take revenge.
