Any help with this? I sprayed it a few weeks ago with ortho weed b gon for southern lawns (I highly recommend it) and it started wilting within 24 hours. However, there was so much of it that it will definitely require a 2nd application. It hadn't rained in awhile and the weeds that were left were starting to wilt. It poured down rain all day yesterday and that definitely gave this weed a second wind. The pictures I posted are mild compared to how it is in some parts of my yards. My grass looks great besides this. One small fact in case this helps with the identification. The one thing I noticed is this weed started growing weeks after other weeds. It required a higher temperature to "wake up" then most other weeds. Any help would be appreciated.

Get a "Weed Hound" from one of your local big box stores. It is a little tool that makes pulling weeds a breeze, especially ones like dandelions that have taproots. If there are too many and you need to use chemicals, things get a little tougher. I see you are in Zone 8, but where exactly are you? What type of grass are you going to grow? If it is a warm season grass (bermuda, zoysia, centipede, etc.) this is the time to seed so you need to get to work on those weeds. If it is a cool season grass (KBG, fescue, rye, etc) you won't seed until fall. This makes your job easier as you have more time to get rid of the weeds before seeding. About any namebrand Broadleaf Weed Killer will kill dandelions. However, read the directions as not all types are compatible with all grass types. There wil also be seeding-after-use instructions (ie. how long to wait before seeding). Also heed the temperature recommendations for use, unless there isn't much other grass that can be harmed by applying in the heat. I like Weed-B-Gon Max and have had good luck with it. Looks like clover parsley piert, and plantain. Right now it doesn't matter what it is. Wait til you get a good hard freeze and let the Bermuda go completely dormant. Once asleep hit anything green with Round Up. Or if you cannot wait use Tri-Mec, but it will not be too effective in colder weather if even at all. Next early spring and fall you can use pre-emergence to head it off.

Matt, I would gladly have a lawn of bulb Oxalis vs. grass, but it's dormant too much of the year to function that way, disappearing during the coldest & hottest weather here. Beloved ground cover around/under shrubs when it's "up" though! If your summers are less hot, might be something to investigate, a test patch. The 2 I've encountered so far are definitely hardy here, O. crassipes & O. triangularis.
