grass or ? for wet Seattle low spot..

I have an acre of land where water runs to and collects during spring. I tore out blackberries and would like to plant something there to make a low maintenence "meadow". I do not want to mow it often, not really at all if possible. During our summer I have no irrigation available to this area so it will get dry as well...

Would rye grass work here, or wildflowers, we look over this area from our house, and would like a nice natural meadow look, but with no upkeep, ideas??
