Balancing Organic & Synthetic Techniques for Lawn

I use synthetic fertilizers and will continue to do so until I get my numbers right. I've had 2 soil tests and am very low in Iron & Phosphorus. (Yes my P, I didn't mean K)

pH is high at 7.7 and I added Sulfur.

I admit my Organic Matter is very low.

I believe you can balance organic techniques and synthetic practices.

I have always bagged, but this year I will mow twice a week and mulch.

Not this year, but next year I will compost, can't do it this year.

I want to do something for my soil microbes. I am considering adding 5 pounds of table sugar per 1,000 sq ft and was hoping for some opinions.

Is there something else I should do instead?

Any tips or opinions appreciated, but please don't try to talk me out of synthetic fertilizers until I get my numbers right. After that, I do plan to go all organic.
