Is there a way to track my previous posts?

Sometimes I post to a thread and then forget that I had posted there.....only realizing long after it scrolled away into oblivion. On other boards, there is often a feature where you can see all of your previous posts. Any idea if this has it?

You can get a list of them by doing a site "search" on your "handle" rutgers16NJ

I think there's an option when you post to get email notifications when there are responses to your post. At one time, that was the default, but I think they've changed it so the default is that you don't get notified. I know that's not quite what you're looking form, but it might help.

Considering everything else you have done, are you 100% certain you have the genuine Kohler fuel filter and the correct Kohler filter for your application? The surging might not be a real indicator when the engine is running unloaded, that's likely just the governor "hunting". But the bogging and dying when the blade load is applied sorta points toward insufficient fuel volume. On Kohlers this often is caused by the use of an aftermarket filter that will not flow the volume of a Kohler Branded filter.

RC, As anyone knows I have forever been a promoter of self-help first. Computers are analytical and if you are not blessed with the ability to think like a flow chart you have to develop the discipline. If you are unable to develop the ability then a user needs to cultivate the location and knowledge of resources; i.e. Help files, hardware included manual and instructions, manufactures' websites and finally forums. When a question is asked and you can tell from face value that the member hasn't at least tried that's where my patience wavers a little bit. Just try I say. Some day I will read a " I have a CD burner, how do I use it?" question and I will probably be placed in a home. You know come to think of it, I might have of course missed it, but I don't ever remember any member asking how to use a search engine. "God bless the seekers of knowledge and those that share it with them." (Can't remember who.) DA

"yup, tou would think with all of the ad revenue they get --esp. from those annoying drop down ones, that they could get a current message board. if i start a thread or have a particular interest in one that someone else started, i end up saving it to favorites for a bit so i can actually find it again!" You'd think that they could have a quote feature too! ROFL. seriously, this is the worst excuse for a message board I have ever seen. come on GW - its 2007. Not 1991.

Susan_2008. You couldn't find your thread because it has long since fallen off the list. Only 67 pages worth of threads are kept "active". "Active" means you can find a thread via the GW search function or by finding it in the list of threads. A thread is tracked by the last time someone posted to it...while it's still active. On the Kitchens Forum, 67 pages means only about two month's worth of threads are "active" Right now, as I type, the last thread on page 67 (which is the next to "fall off") says "...7 follow-ups, last one posted on Wed, Sep 10, 08 at 6:57". Any thread with a "last posted" date/time before that is now gone or "inactive". In the past, this meant you usually couldn't access the thread, even if you had the correct URL. You'd get a "missing file" message. However, sometime around the beginning of this year we discovered that if you have the direct URL you can still access "inactive" threads...not all, mostly those that have at least one post in 2008. You can also still post to it, but it will not re-activate the post. As was the case with your thread, sometimes inactive threads can be found by doing an internet-wide search (i.e., not just GW). If you want to access later, bookmark it!

At the bottom of the forum page just above the message box is the Search box. Type in your name, and everytime your name appeared in a thread will result whether you posted yourself or someone mentioned your name. That will probably be many pages for you. This includes anytime someone mentioned Rutgers University since it's the same as your name. So it will be one of the results whether you posted to that thread or not. To find something more specific and narrow your search to get fewer threads to look through, try to remember an odd word that you or someone else typed. If I were to look for this thread, I would type either "oblivion" that you used or "notifications," "default," or the word "search" that others used since those words wouldn't be found in many other threads.

That is my main gripe with this forum, it is quite limited and Antiquated.

The correct term is "seasoned", and you are almost as old as me.

Thanks for the responses. I have tried the search function before, but since I tend to chime in more often than I should, it is hard to find specific threads, lol.

No Antiquated was a correct term IMO as in an Antique. There is far better bulletin board software out there today than this fossil of a dinosaur.
