Sahara Bermuda growing season.

My Sahara Bermuda yard of almost 3 acres is already growing substantially as of the 2nd week in March 2008. It went dormant in the last week of November 2007. This is contrary to the much talked about super short growing season of Bermuda. I have a small patch of Princess-77 Bermuda that is about a week behind the Sahara variety. I think one reason I am seeing this early emergence is the fact that I have few spring weeds to block the sun. In yards that have heavy spring foliage of various types the Bermuda is shaded and held back until the sun can get through.
