Comments (5)No aroma to the folaige and the Joe Pye images you linked me to are spot on. So that must be it - Eupatorium rugosum!! I saw this quote about the plant when I googled, "The plant was also burned and the smoke used to revive unconscious patients". Well, now I have that going for me - I can revive those unconscious people who wander into my yard. But seriously, I love the history of this native plant. Thank you all. It's 72 degress here - perfect for gardening. I'm off the spend the day creating a new bed on the side of my house. I like what I read about Perilla frutescen. Might have to find some of those too....See Morestalky plant with rounded, green and purple spiraled leaves

Comments (2)Are the stems a ruddy color? Sounds like Preziosa to me. Lowe's is selling a ton of them right now I've noticed. Another thing I've noticed about hydrangeas is that when stems and leaves are colored like the blooms, it tends to keep the blooms in the same color range in a wider variety of soil types. Comments (8)The leaves belong to an outside located Brazilian Rain Tree BONSAI . Its a big bonsai tree located in S Florida. Its 70 inches tall. Those leaves are not meant to be variegated but just simply green. Now a few new leaves came out like that and there is no real texture to it by touching it, its inside the leave. The few "infected" leaves are at total different places , so its not only happening in their immediate surroundings. In the bonsai world nobody has seen it happening on this specie. Its weird. Very weird. However I wanted to shout it out, there maybe somebody who has seen something similar. This specie does not have variegated leaves. I asked a bonsai guy in Brazil who has a bunch of those. The story of the tree is I just bought it 6 weeks ago and it sits in the sun where it belongs. Afternoon it sits in shade. Half of the tree has more yellowish leaves, looks like Chlorosis what I am treating now. Its a deficiency...See Moregw:angels-quest
