Here's a pic of one of the bunk bed benches. It needs another coat of paint or 2 but other than that its pretty much done.

Oh yea!! It looks great.... you choose such vibrant colors. I'm glad you posted your pictures. I have to get started repainting some things.

There's another pond below those 2 in the pictures. I love my ponds too. The birds come in the summer and bathe in the channel. I love to watch them and the sound, of the water and the falls, is very soothing. That window frame was very easy. Had the old frame, added the box on front, painted it, and its ready to go in the garden. I cant wait to see it after it's planted. Deb

That's really nice. Now there's a problem...too many headborad benches, lol. I agree a cushion would look nice and I would have to stencil (or hand paint if you're able) some flowers on that large top board and maybe the sides of the seat. Or maybe a short verse across the top board. I remember those wagon wheel beds. Some were solid maple many moons ago. That ought to be a pretty one, too. Is there any kind of "boutique" store near you that might sell them on commission? Seems like with the holidays comming up you ought to be able to sell a few of these, that would look so pretty with fall and Christmas type decorations.

My newish bed is a RH sleigh bed with rails about 2" wide (past the mattress). I occasionally stub toes, but never shins. A bed like that platform bed is gorgeous, but looks really difficult to get into and out of and difficult to make. I would probably stub toes not shins. I imagine climbing in, I might step up onto the edge like step? Not sure how I would get out exactly. Probably scoot off the mattress to sit on the edge of the platform and then swing my legs down. I imagine you'd find some way to make the bed, though it seems like you'd be leaning over the edge a lot and maybe climbing on top. I do think it looks really cool, but it would not be the bed for me.

The room is darling. It brings back memories of my 2 DD who are 24 and 26 now. We had a low table and chairs also. Sometimes they were in the bedroom, sometimes in the middle of the kitchen. So many fun activities and memories. When the girls were in grade school, they shared a bathroom, so I got 2 nice, large mirrors and made a "vanity" for each of them in their bedroom. A little older, hair dryers were added, then in middle school they wanted to do their own hair sometimes, so I gave them their own curling irons. The vanities really helped keep the bathroom open. I also had a bookcase for each of them to keep her favorite books. Owning books is so important for kids. I have a suggestion if you keep the curtains long and tie them back. It would be fun to tie them back with 3 different colored extra wide grogain ribbons with long tails to match the pillows on the beds and rugs you choose. For the rugs, consider getting some that are easy to wash in your own washer. I got some that had to be washed in a commercial washer and it was way to much bother. It seemed like there was constant spills or something on them that needed to be washed out. And we had pets and one of the rugs turned into a favorite place for all sorts of accidents, so, end of rugs. Have fun with the decorating. Rachel

No justlinda, I have been working on some of these for a while now. I just now came out from lurkdom here. LOL I will tell you though that the bunk bed benches that I made could have been done, start to finish, in less than a day. Other than letting the paint dry overnight and then putting on a second coat. They were surprisingly easy!!
That color on the bench is very close to John Deere green and I love anything John Deere!! LOL

Oh thank you. I did the patio too. In the spring I put my table and chairs back out there but its not quite warm enough for that yet.

It came out great! Love it :) My husband made me one,too,and I get such nice comments on it all the time,then I tell them it's made from a headboard and they're in awe! I made a cushion for my wicker settee with a body pillow I got free from a yard sale,and a dollar store quilt I paid a couple bucks for, it covered the settee and two chairs :)

Liz, I'm thinking I'm going to get some kind of cushions and put on the seat. Kudz, I really like that bench!! I still gotta check out your covers you made. That maybe something I copy. LOL

I like both of them! I love your cushions too, kudzukween. Great job, ladies! I am not a seamstress by any means but I'd like to make better cushions for my "fake" wicker chairs on the balcony. They came with the paper-thin cushions. Thanks for the idea, kudzukween!
