My newest bed/bench

I just cant get enough of these!! This makes my third one and I already got a new head board to start another one. I am going to run out of room for them. LOL I have another headboard and footboard coming from a friend of mine. He says its an old one with wagon wheels on it. I cant wait to see that one. Anyways, here's the pic.

Haley...must husband said to tell you thanks. I showed him the picture of your bench and told him I wanted one...so he says now he has an excuse to go get a new mig welder! lol. I guess the one he has isn't the right one. Hmmm. He's welded lots of other stuff....hey, I think he's pulling my leg just so he can get a new one!!! Just did some reassembling of this tonight, secured with different posts and previously used 6 lb test weight fishing line but it wasn't strong enough with wind. It is planted with pink wave petunias. Will be a matching on on the left but painted opposite colors (green on pot, purple on frame). All from junk. Junk window frames that I sanded and painted, this pot is from something my MIL threw in our shared dumpster, a bucket from her ice cream maker, other bucket same thing, thrown in dumpster but similar size and shape.

Howdy Do ! ? Robolady!!!!! I've missed you..... Glad to see these lovely pictures and gee.... the little mosaic window conservatory is to die for!!! I have some old windows... and I was going to try to mosaic... lets see...... Well when the SPRING THAW comes... perhaps I too shall take a stab at this project!!! Thank you all. I was thinking of making some cushions for it. I thought that would kind of set it off. I have tried to sell this one but no takers yet. I was asking $75 for it. I didnt think that was too much to ask. What do you think?? When I get the wagon wheel headboard I will post pics of that.

That is lovely, looks professional and I don't think $75.00 is too much, but I guess it depends on what kind of area you are in.

Deb, craigslist might be the way to go. I would think that a good photo and a price between $60 to $150, depending on each bench (cushions, etc), should sell them. I think $75 is a very good price without cushions. Maybe $100 or more if you make one with outdoor fabric.

At a yard sale people tend to want to pay $2 for everything LOL .... that's my favorite price 2 bucks. But your bench will need advertised, or sold at a market or something else like a local hardware store etc (if you know anyone). eBay is also another possibility, you can list it as a local pick up item only, no shipping offered with the sale.

Don't give them away .... unless you're making them for family keepsakes etc. Christmas or birthday gifts maybe. That's a gift that would last through the years, very nice work! ~tenderlee

That's really nice. Now there's a problem...too many headborad benches, lol. I agree a cushion would look nice and I would have to stencil (or hand paint if you're able) some flowers on that large top board and maybe the sides of the seat. Or maybe a short verse across the top board.
I remember those wagon wheel beds. Some were solid maple many moons ago. That ought to be a pretty one, too.
Is there any kind of "boutique" store near you that might sell them on commission? Seems like with the holidays comming up you ought to be able to sell a few of these, that would look so pretty with fall and Christmas type decorations.

I would like to have a bed with wagon wheels, but turned into a benchh sound really great. Please keep us updated on that one. I have got to just jump in and make one of these, I have really been intimidated and I see the old beds in the trash every week.

Looking great! They are fun to make. I tried to get $75 for mine also but no takers. I did end up selling 2 of them for $50 each.

It turned out very pretty! Some benches look like I made them ... lol ... they have big chunks of wood to add height. Yours looks like a bench that wasn't made from a bed. lol! I don't think $75 is too much either. Maybe a cushion would help it sell. It has a nice enough seat (edges to hold a cushion in place) for a comfortable cushion. Be sure to post pictures of the wagon wheel bench!

You could make up a bunch of them and sell at a craft/art fair.
I went to one this summer where a vendor was selling reclaimed wood benches and chairs for $300 to $900.
They were NOT as nice as your bench.
They were wood benches painted bright colors- no backs or arms -nice, but I like your bench better.
