Yeah, other forum is best. But in short it's just like with citrus: not enough water being absorbed by the roots to supply the given amount of foliage. This could be under-watering or root-loss damage from transplant or over-watering (soggy roots). Let the other forum know if any environmental factors have changed (swings in temp or large amounts of sunlight now vs. before). Gently dig around the soil in various spots to determine if the soil is moist below the surface vs. just looking wet on top when you water. This can and does happen when the soil dries out too much and becomes hydrophobic and won't re-wet again very easily despite heavy watering.

Even though Siberica is likely to carry over the pink I still have one reserved thought that Robert Purvis knows of about Siberica. That it is an incredibly slow grower and is dwarf. Robert used to live in Alaska and in Idaho still does nothing but apricot in one of his collections in Washington. Gabe Botar was at the gardens who is another person knowing a great deal about apricot. He had scions of a prolific dwarf apricot with small good tasting fruits that he produced from crossed parents. Good stuff because slow growing and dwarf is always great for extreme cold or unprotected sites. For example flowering under the snow would delay bloom and escape the damaging spring frosts. If Clair Lammers (formerly from Edmonton) from Alaska ever grew Gabes apricot he would at least had fruits from this where all other his Manchurica experiments failed. My grandfather may have been around as a retired forester at the time those were planted and lived very close by. Only a remote possibility exists. I came across the trees a few years ago because I wanted to visit my childhood memories of the wading pool that still there in that place and not that anybody told me. Who ever planted them it seems very possible it was done from self pollinated Goldcot seeds similar the way you collected from the pink tree the seeds for another generation.

My zone is 7, GA. I tried to grow different kind of apricots before, trees and bushes form. They grew, bloomed, but never gave me even one fruit. Now, I've got two bareroot manchurian apricots, 3' high, very bushy, roots look good too. I guess it is a bushy form even it says it is a tree. I have sandy soil and clayish soil patches on my property, where I could plant them. Which will work better? How often should I add dolomite, since we have acid soil here?

where are you.. big city name.. that you have to bring plants in at night in july...??? in nature the pit or seed is dropped on the top of the soil.. and roots down from there.. how deep did you plant your seed in the pot ?? there is a tree forum... im not sure how active the orchard forum is anymore ... but the tree peeps are still active.. no tree needs water every day.... water a pot when it needs it.. not on some schedule .. it should near dry between waterings... since i dont know where you are.. i dont know how much you have to water.. AZ would be different than ME.. eh?? ken
