prayers please for my granddaughter

My 12 year old granddaughter, Isabella, has a lump in her breast. it is not a cyst, she has had an ultrasound and my son and daughter-in-law will get results this coming Monday. Needless to say we are all very worried. So I am asking for your prayers.

As you know, there is much power in prayer. Rest assured many prayers will be going out for Isabella!

I've had many such scares myself, starting when I was pretty young. All turned out to be nothing serious, but I know how frightening it is.

So sorry to hear he is in such discomfort. Wishing the best for the change in treatment. Last year around this time, my DD's good friend was going thru the same thing and due to an infection while her system was so low, we almost lost her. Many people on this forum were wonderful in their support at that time and I really believe all the positive energy helped her pull thru. She is now back at school (part time) and talking about taking part in a 24 hour relay fundraiser for cancer in the spring. Life is never the same for these kids, but their strength and resilience is amazing. I will pray for the best for your grandson.

Thanks guys. Her cat scan is scheduled for Wed. so I'll keep you posted. Amy - Yeah, my G and P are hip. :) Rose - She's 73. Thank you for the info! Hopefully I won't need the list of questions. As of yesterday, I have out of state relatives that are in a panic and asked to come stay with us for two weeks depending on the results. At first just my aunt was going to come and she mentioned staying for a MONTH (*shaking my head no*) but turns out my uncle only has two weeks vacation. There are quite a few issues with this. The main one is she's planning on "surprising" Grammy. Grammy gets about half stressed when they come in because of cooking and just everything that goes with it. Now that she's older things just are a bigger deal than they used to be for her even if they don't need to be. My aunt knows this. Hello? The other issue is, quite frankly, I don't want them staying with us for two weeks. Now just isn't a good time and I need my s p a c e. I love them very much and welcomed them with open arms over the summer to stay with us but this is different. It's too much to type to get into specifics. Before I got off the phone I asked if she was coming in regardless of what the test results are and she said probably. Of course, I'm hoping Grammy is fine but maybe knowing that will make my aunt think a little more and not spend the money, they don't have, to visit right now. I'm all about helping family out and I think there's a time and a place to put people up for a few weeks or whatever it takes, depending on the situation, but this isn't one of them. I'll suck it up and deal if need be but, bottom line, it's not in the best interest for my Grammy. I know she didn't twist my arm and I actually did tell her I needed to check with DH but she still assumed it was a yes. Saying no would be a disaster not worth it. I expected DH to grumble but he was actually ok. So I'll let you know how that goes too.

I have been keeping him in my prayers and will continue to do so, Marie. FYI, any artificial part in your body, ie, knee or hip replacement, ect. has the same problem. Those I personally know who have had hip or knee replacements even have to be on antibiotics for a week before any dental work, even a cleaning, because if they get an infection from it, it will go directly to the replaced joint. At 17 months old, IBD is unlikely, but not unheard of . Fresh blood in cat stool is not that rare, nor is it necessarily a big problem. Many things can cause a bit of fresh blood in the stool of a cat, with the most likely being the kitty ate something that was not his normal food... plant material (eg. grass is a common cause), excess hair accumulation can do this (in allergic cats or ones with a lot of fleas for example), or a diet change. Dry food is often implicated in situations with bloody stools in cats... high protein, low carb diets are always best for cats (impossible with dry food). Glad he seems better. If he has blood in his stool once a month or less, I would not be too concerned, particularly if he likes to eat grass or you keep changing his diet. If he has fleas, get rid of those, or excess hair ingestion can be a problem... also, I might recheck his fecal sample at least one more time... sometimes you need to do a few tests before certain parasites show up. Tapeworms never show up in fecals but you can often see them in the stools. However, tapeworms rarely if ever cause bloody stools.

Wow, that's so young for anything, maybe she hit herself & it formed a lump. Hope it turns out to be not serious. Very scarey for Isabella. Prayers going up for her as soon as I get off here. Jan
