Happy Mother's Day to all the dear mothers on the board.

I hope your families pamper you and remind you just how loved and needed you all are.

Mothers are one of the great gifts this life gives us.

I have a dog...am I considered a mother? :P
She even gets me a gift every year. I have to tell her that mommy wants a plant this year.

Right back atcha. Me too! LOL!!! I have been so busy buying outside plants. I etched in my mind what was good and what did really bad.

I swear I think the soil they put with some of the hanging baskets must be bad.

I know alot of people really hate geraniums, but I found these Regal Geraniums that are really rich in color, burgandy. They only like the shade.

The board has taught me to ask alot of questions. Through process of buying plants, I found out who is the good, bad and the ugly.

Islay, here is what I have done: As I said, I incorporated part of the techniques of making Peking duck, which is to separate the skin from the meat. It was very easy using a long spoon to get under the skin. At the sametime I pushed under the skin lots of seasoning which I mixed in some 5 spice seasoning. Then came the boiling soy sauce wash. The duck was air dried in the refrigerator overnight. With a convection oven set at 170F, the chicken was roasted for about 8 hours. Then it was put in the freezer for about 15 minutes while the oven was being preheated to 500F. It didn't take long for the skin to be "Peking duck" crispy in the oven. dcarch

Bluebell, yes! I'm looking for any of those tips. I actually do know the ones you listed. I've never been so obsessed with a heating pad; 3 or 4, is 4 too hot? Is 3 too cool? Haha. I don't know of any nursing mom cats or how to find one. The interwebs says she should have doubled her weight this first week but she's only gone from 3.2oz to 4oz. She eats every 2-2.5 hours, went up to 4cc per feeding today. She hates to be pottied and cat-cusses me at the top of her lungs but all of that is good. And I already have too many cats. I've always been very firm about 2 only but right now I have 4, before adding her. I'm pretty tired. I'm actually on sick leave and waiting on a Rheumotologist appt to figure out what is wrong. My son helps (former vet tech) but works long hours. The vet he worked for never fostered kittens, so he's not a big source of info. Honestly, breastfeeding a new baby was waaaay easier. And I was younger.

Thank you for your kind wishes! Looking good. At work, my girlfriends and I have sushi Thursday. Now, instead, we Zoom. We TOTALLY miss it. There are no establishments in my corner and I can't Uber Eats, Door Dash, etc. anything reasonable. I've tried a couple of times, but it just isn't the same. Man, I miss fried lobster sushi rolls and sparkling sake.

My friend, my daughter, and I ate at a Mexican restaurant tonight, and the owner hired a Mariachi band to play for his wife. My friend translated the songs for me we were both in tears, it was so beautiful! My friend was teasing me because one of the band members was making cow eyes at me. It's no consolation that I could be b'ugly and buck toothed as long as I have blonde hair.

Grice, thank you, you're very sweet. I know it hasn't been that long since you lost your mom so this time of year must be a little tough, to say the least. I am fortunate to be able to celebrate mother's day once again this year with my own mother. But father's day this year will not be a joyous. My father passed away three months ago and I dread this year's holiday for dads. It'll be a tough one.

Once again, thank you for your nice message! I have a wonderful home life with my husband and children and a wonderful family all around. So I'll be pampered by my little group here once more. And they remind me all year long how much they appreciate me; it's all good...LOL...

I always take my mom out to eat and we hit all the plant shops. Today I bought her a Goldmound spirea and sweet flag grass for mothers day. We have so much fun shopping together. My mom and I are best friends, I will never take her for granted. Happy Mothers Day!
