Sperling Nursery in Calabasis is one of my favorites and has a great selection of perennials as well as some of the most beautiful and unique containers sleek and modern to finer quality hand-painted Mexican (don't know about reasonable price as I don't know what your budget is). Burchards Nursery in Pasadena has higher prices than the average nursery but also a great selection, they have some unusual plants, seeds and bulbs there. Woldwide Exotics in Lakeview Terrace is only open for retail sales on Saturdays (maybe another day during the week but I can't remember) and has a great selection of unusual plants you won't find elsewhere at very good prices - only plants no containers or pottery though. My local nurseries in the San Fernando Valley, Green Arrow and Green Thumb keep me plenty busy with the stock they have on hand. I've found some very unusual plants there from time to time (Black Lace elderberry for $7, Puerto Rican recao, golden grape hyacinth bulbs, Nancy's Revenge elephant ear) and Green Arrow is The BEST for bareroot fruit tree selection.

Search seems to work normally. Are you still having problems?

And don't include the word 'tomato' or 'tomatoes' when searching the tomato forum or 'pepper' or 'peppers' when searching the peppers forum or you get everything. The search here isn't like Google. You want a very specific search here not general net-wide searching. So you want to use specific terms like "soil preparation" or "add to soil" or "add to garden" and leave out all the a, and, the, conjunctions. But you can't rule out posts that come up on your search just by the title since people notoriously choose some really strange titles for their posts. For example, the post My Stupidest Gardening Mistake happens to contain lots of soil preparation info. :) Dave

I have the same issue many times too. Google came to the rescue - type in your search phrase then add the word "gardenweb" at the end and they'll give you plenty of hits. (Yahoo and Bing will do the same thing if you have a preference for a different search engine!) Happy searching. :-)
