For alpine strawberries, there is a place in Nebraska not far from here, and they have very good quality plants. It's called papa geno's herb farm. they have several alpine strawberries (fragaria). They are a little pricey, but have good plants and do a good job with shipping, IMO. They have a about as wide of variety as I have seen, last time I looked. http://www.papagenos.com/

If you are looking for cheap alpine strawberries, you are better off with the seeds. I ordered the yellow alpine from pinetree, but the berries are definitely red. Go figure. I started them from seed, which was harder than I thought it was going to be. Out of 25 seeds, I got two plants, and only one survived when I transplanted. (I could be a little more attentive to my plants, but that didn't make a huge difference.) But the good news is, by the end of the season, it had divided well, and I had 6-8 plants for the next year. And then around 25 the next year, so they do multiply.

AJ, you have a high quality nursery for many small fruits out in your relative neck of the woods. It's named Nourse Farms. I've ordered strawberries, asparagus and several kinds of brambles from them and they have always been the most uniformly healthy plants I've received from online nursery sources. I don't think you can go wrong ordering from them, especially since their selection is tailored to the northeastern fruit grower. Follow the link.

For regular strawberries, Nourse is generally considered the gold standard by most folks on this forum.

For alpines (and also musks), I recently ordered some seeds from the company below. They had the widest selection of alpines and musks I could find. I've also seen the seeds at Tradewindsfruit.com. Edible Landscaping and Raintree sell alpine plants (and Raintree also sells musk plants).

I bought some "Alexandra" and "Pineapple Crush" seeds from thestrawberrystore.com last year and had good results. I put 3 to 4 seeds per cell in one of those 36 cell trays and only had a couple cells without viable transplants. They did take a long time to germinate and get to a point where they were "transplantable" but they did make it, and most have survived the winter just fine (still green). They also came true to seed from what I can tell... the pineapple crush fruits were white and the alexandra fruits were red.

I actually already had an order of 3 blueberries from Nourse Farms already, so I decided to call and ask to add strawberries to that (so it goes on same shipping charge).
I was thinking 25 strawberries (min. order) seems a lot, but what the hey. After much soul-searching I went with Mesabi.

I can offer a contrary comment to the one offered for Sparkle. In my experience, this variety, while vigorous and disease-resistant, produced a multitude of small, seedy berries lacking sweetness. I'm digging these up this year and tossing in the compost, replacing with Jewel and Cabot. After giving these two varieties a couple of seasons, if there's a clear winner, I'll rip out the other.

ajpa, that's ok, I don't mind the enthusiasm. I rather enjoy seeing it in my own family, so that's a good sign, I'd say. Enjoy the strawberries. 25 is a good start, by the way, I think. That should give you a good crop to enjoy. And if you really like them the runners will give you more to plant out and increase your bed for the next year. Happy gardening!
