Want a REALLY Good Laugh ???

I made a homemade chicken and vegetable pie yesterday for dinner. It was wonderfull. Home raised chicken that I pressure cooked, carrots potatoes, peas, and celery. A little onion in the white sauce and thyme. Awesome.

Except for the onion my daughter (10 yrs old) pulled from the garden and skinned for me and I was in a hurry so I chopped it without really paying attention and put in the sauce.

While the pie was baking, I took DH to the garden to show him all of my hard work and weed pulling, tilling, hoeing. On the way there I see garlic tops laying in the yard.

You prob. guessed it. She had pulled 2 b/c they were small for onions and skinned them and took the tops off and we had 2 small HEADS of garlic in the pot pie instead of onions.

It was good but a LITTLE GARLICKY LOL.

SHe felt bad and we have been teasing her but it could have been a lot worse.

Was not gonna tell, but then I decided it was a good laugh.

I had an old used Electrolux canister that I absolutely loved. The pros were-it was great,it picked up everything in its path,the attachments worked very well. . The cons-it was somewhat heavy to drag around, and the hose kept getting clogged. I finally got sick of the clogs and replaced it with-in order, a Hoover upright bagless, a Eureka upright rated a "BestBuy" by Consumer Reports, and my current Bissell Grab and Go convertible. I have hated every one of the replacements, they "suck" or rather, don't suck at cleaning. I have considered both a Dyson and another Electrolux/Aerus . Someone else must have the answer. What is the best vacuum?

That's exactly what's happening at my step-fathers work. To cut costs, they went in on a coffee-maker and Wally buys the coffee. He buys Maxwell House on sale. Lately one of the girls stopped drinking the coffee, cause she likes Tim Horton's coffee. She offered to bring in her can of Tim Horton's to try. So he made the Tim Horton's the next day, and they asked what kind of coffee he was making. He said "you tell me". They drank it, and they all thought it was Maxwell House. Maxwell House sells for $5 and Tim Horton's $16 for the same size can. There was a test on tv recently where generic food was poured in name brand container, just like you did. Everyone thought the "name brand" tasted better. Manufacturers count on this as well. We eat with our eyes, and they know most people will pay more for the "real thing". DH and I prefer a lot of generic brands over name brand.

That's funny. I have a two year old who like unripened tomato and, strangely, strawberries. Its been tough keeping her out of the garden long enough for my fruit to ripen, every time I turn around she has some green tomato or strawberry in her mouth, sour grimace on her face and the words Yummy in my tummy muffling through her full mouth. Funny and frustrating =)
