Interesting. Maybe it is time. I planted them on Feb 11. I thought they would have to grow much longer than that amount of time in order for the potatoes to get big enough. I'm nervous that I'll start digging and just find teeny tiny potatoes down there. I guess I could try to dig down a little ways and see what I find. I just don't want to disturb the roots if it looks like it is not done growing. If the top pretty much dies off (like the one in the pics that is in really bad shape), is there any sense in leaving the potatoes in the soil in hopes of them getting bigger? Or is there no hope of that? The funny thing is, these potato plants are in my garden and I have been tending to them. I have another potato plant that is growing in my compost pile (I stopped turning it once the plant started taking off, just to see what it would do), and THAT plant is really taking off. Unfortunately that one was not buried very deeply, so I don't think there will be much to harvest from it. Potatoes don't tend to grow downwards from the seed potato, do they? I was under the assumption that that is why it is recommended to plant the seed potato very low, allow the plant to grow, cover it, allow it to grow more, cover, rinse and repeat. Do you guys think that fish fertilizer would help the yellowing ones come back to life? THANKS! -Michael- Austin, TX

Thanks, Faye, you are all heart! HAHA. Something about Regal Splendor reminds me of Sagae, perhaps its that energetic flip of the margin area, but it has a lot of energy IMHO. I like the look, that is certain. Okay, I feel my arm twisted, it goes on the list for maybe a short order that needs beefing out. I still have one to place, with Van Wade. And a make-up order to replace the Sugar Snap that my doxie Dolly ate (and then threw up), from the Solberg new arrivals. And Tepelus, your Praying Hands looks great in that pot with Creeping Jenny and surrounded by orphans. Sure hope it comes back for you.

Count me in with Bronwynsmom. I take it from my grandmother. She always got up and dressed, touched up her hair, etc. Said it helped her face the day. I of course have play clothess, etc. and I work in the yard, outside a good bit. Doesn't mean I run out anywhere in those clothes though. I'm usually a sweaty mess after yardwork. On days at home, I'm very casual (yoga pants, etc. alot, shorts and tanks in summer), but not hole-y, ripped up clothing unless doing something really nasty or heavy duty yard work. I don't wear alot of make-up at any time, but if I'm going out, I'll put on a touch. I have a wash and go hair style, so it's very easy and quick to do my hair. I'm not a fan of sweats as they are not attractive on most and we don't get cold enough that often for sweats around here. There are some cuter, updated, less bulky sweat pants, cardigans, etc. out now. I feel better if I've made an effort with my appearance. It never fails if I go out looking not so hot, that's when I'll run into the most people. Bronwynsmom, it's very private here and I'm often out back in my nighties, so I get the t-shirt and undies. Yeah - I actually wound up buying 2 different brands of enzyme drain cleaners, used them several times in ALL the drains. I plan on using it again. At first I used the ammonia method, it didn't work either. And yes I did a LOT of online research and did read some statements that it's not good to do the caulking but we needed an immediate fix and will look into getting the toilet checked out by a professional. We did a lot of the things I mentioned previously several times, not just once, man what a nightmare. DH runs like a deer when anything is mentioned about DIY plumbing, very shocked that he even did these 2 things. He's a journeyman electrician and knows his way around that and a few other things but he has a bad phobia about anything plumbing-related. The gnats were either fruit flies or drain gnats (not drain flies) but they look similar, I tend to lean to the drain gnats though, but they do like vinegar, and they also like Kombucha and beer, too. I used them all 3 in the homemade traps.
