Winter care for container blueberries

I have searched the net and read thru old posts on here about winter care for container grown blueberries and just wanted to try and get some more info from experienced growers on this forum.

I have 3 Blueberry plants purchased this spring, Bluecrop, Blueray and North Country. They are all rated zone 3 or 4. I am in zone 6. I have planted them in half whiskey barrels and they are all 3 year old plants. I am wondering if I will need to cover them with burlap this winter or if they might just be fine on their own. They are on the south/west side of my house up against a foundation wall.

Our winters are generally fairly mild, rarely getting below 10 degrees and just sporadic snow of a few inches now and then so I can't count on snow to protect them.

Thanks,

Kathy
