Ok Reimer has a bad name. I am sure it is well deserved. But to be fair I did buy a large amount of seeds from them a few months ago, and everything I planted germinated and grew. No not all the seeds, but out of 10 seeds, most of them did sprout and grow. I am lazy when it comes to seeds. I just take a Dixie cup, put the seeds in them, and cover with 1" of water. I then put them in full light until they sprout. Usually far ahead of time the seeds sprout and grow just fine. Last night I planted 10 brussel sprouts and 75% of them have already sprouted one day later. I have tomatoe seeds, pea seeds, and cucumber that have all sprouted in one day. Usually most hot pepper plants will germinate within one week, even the hard ones. In the past I was told to put my seeds into a "Jiffy Plug", blah blah blah. It did not make it grow faster. All seeds need for the first week or two is water, and sun light. Again, not taking away from those who have actually bought and had issues with Reimer seeds.

I didn't follow their instructions(er...their disclaimer) at all. I soaked all seeds in tea water overnight and planted them in a mix of cheap potting soil and jiffy mix. I used chamomile tea water for watering and kept bottom heat(for peppers)at about 87 degrees. The first sprout was at 6 days and it was the Reimer's Early Jalapeno. Maybe they're trying to clean up their reputation. Everything was pretty much up by day 14. There was a no show for each company. I just picked up some of those 16 ounce red plastic cups for transplanting, so I'll be doing that soon. I'll have to give away a few maters so I'll have room under my little hood for everybody. Yeah, I like Siletz...it's the only determinate I'll be growing this year. DH made the light for me. Someone gave him the hood a few years ago and we finally got to use it. Our apartment is tiny and it's just the right size for that corner. I was worried it wouldn't be enough light, but I feel better now that you all think the plants look healthy. I would be happy to get ANY seeds from ANYWHERE as a gift! What a thoughtful daughter! You may be one of the lucky ones(like me)that have no or little problems with Reimer seeds. I sent for some(pepper & tom)seeds from them a few years ago before I did the research. I only had one pack that turned out to be a different variety. The germination was ok, too, about the same as some other vendors I purchased from. I guess they can be a PITA as far as customer service, but I haven't had to deal with them. I haven't ordered from them again(didn't want to push my luck), but I'm still using up the seeds. Plant your seeds, enjoy growing your veggies, and if something goes wrong, let your daughter think it's your fault. You don't want her to feel bad about your gift. You can always steer her to a different vendor in the future. I still think it's a terrific gift! JMO

Terrible customer service and completely unprofessional. I emailed the company after almost three weeks without email of shipment We paid for expedited shipping. I received a response with an apology, promise to ship the following day, and an offer of refund for expedited shipping. Four days later I received an email stating that now two of our seeds are out of stock and we were refunded $8. No refund for expedited shipping. Of course the seeds were now out of stock since it took three weeks to fill the order!! I emailed inquiring about the shipping refund and this company wanted to argue with me terminology regarding shipping and expedited fees. Sending email after email arguing and finally an email that said “You can’t read English?”!!!! What business manager sends out an email like that. Rather than admit their mistake and attempt to make things right they want to argue and be absolutely unprofessional. I had to email them threatening legal action if they continued to send me emails. I don’t even want these products now. We will never order from Reimer seeds again
