I just rub the robes from top to bottom over a bowl or cut a bunch off and shake really good within a large paper bag than dump the seed/chaff into a bowl. Either way after you do that you can try taking your deep sided bowl outdoors on a slightly breezy day and winnow the chaff by blowing over the bowl hard enough to get the chaff to float out. The seeds will swirl around in the bowl :D The seed are not disk shaped but are tiny light pink (almost clear)beads. They do self-sow too, but nearly as much as 'Intense Purple'. These seeds are not the first things to start in the garden. Usually they start popping up all over the place once the weather reaches a warmer temperature. Then they grow so quicky anyway!

Probably. They are re-seeding annuals here in Columbus. Winter sow them. Go to our forum. I would suggest late winter sowing as they tend to wait for warmer temps.

I've grown several different types of amaraths and the seeds do vary in color.I wish I could remember the color of seed to the color of plant. My giant purple red has blackish brown seeds. I think my "orange giant" had light brown to golden seeds. Some had green seeds- yep they germinated so I guess the color was right. Some seeds were a beautiful reddish color. The one thing that stayed true was that they reseeded for me everywhere. Shannon/Dirtrx
