Dear amoraljardin, Looks like a cute kitchen in the works. I wonder if you aren't getting more feedback because your plan is in centimeters? I like your plan and love your island. My concern with your plan is that you don't have an easy place to unload dishes into upper cabinets because of the refrigerator placement. I also would not be happy with such a narrow sink cabinet. Both of these problems could be solved if you moved the fridge to the current "pantry wall". But this would mean making your island slightly narrower to provide clearance in the aisle between the new location of the fridg and the island. I'm sure that you've thought about this placement and there must be reasons you haven't selected this option.

So I let my GC know that I was a little worried about no backsplash and he called me right away. Offered to come out to the house to talk to us again. Said he would totally do it if we wanted to, he was just afraid I will not like the look. First we do not have bullnose tile and are using chrome, flat edge Schluter, which will go with the other chrome fixtures in the room. He was not sure I would like where the schluter edges would meet at the L and if I would like the edges going across. He also expressed the possibility that when the guys go to attach the floating vanity to the tiled wall that the a tile could crack. So I think I may have freaked out/panicked a little. He seems totally cool. Now I guess the ball is in my court and I just have to make sure I make the right decision. Do I run the shower tile behind the vanity or not?? HELP!

I thought to use this wall tile mainly because I wanted the counter backsplash to go higher up the wall instead of the standard 4". It seems the drywall always gets water spotted around the handtowel hanger no matter how careful we are not to splatter water and to wipe down. I didn't think the simple white quartz going up the wall any higher than the 4" would look right. By reusing the wall tile from the shower, it 'could' balance the room. I'm not using any trim tile (no accent mosaic) or I would maybe repeat that here. I did think perhaps I'd get tile installer to cut the 12x24 to a smaller size (6x24?, 6x12?) maybe to break the pattern up a bit. But, not sure if that is even doable. This is my first bathroom remodel so on a steep learning curve. Tks for the feedback so far.

I believe the difference in color is too great with the white and brown. Why? 3 reasons 1. The products that are cemented to the building you will not redo anytime soon. Messy , dirty, expensive and just not worth the trouble  2. When you add a product to the building structure. Windows , floors they must last a long time. Durability, wear and tear, and STYLE. All equal a story of when the home was designed.  The look over a period of time 10 years + and the home will become "out of date" Needs a face lift . 3. The homes we admire, the Museums, Churches, Libraries, Opera House have one common thread. At a glance they are timeless. Built in 1940, 1990 etc  The crystal clear item is not seen  For this reason I would not go "trendy". Generally our first choice is the right one. Simple and elegant  How do you change this ad time moves on. Color Bedroom a change of bedspread. Bathroom towels become a dark navy or  deep forest green. Yellow for spring  Paint a wall blue, hang a piece of art  The change is simple and your money well spent for resale  Take a moment to do another board  Remove the brown and replace with a neutral.
