Yet another paint question - Sherwin Williams "Natural Choice"
Comments (1)At the link I posted below, there is a photo of a room with floors that look like travertine painted in Natural Choice. I always go to Google Images when someone asks about a paint color and find pics of it there. Comments (6)Before our recent remodel my house interior was Dover White, flat finish on walls and Dover White wood trim in semigloss. My downstairs floor plan is mostly open and I was happy with the combination. Dover White is a shade that will change throughout the day's light and it played well with all the colors in my furnishings. And it never looked too harsh, to me, during cold winter months, as some whites can. We replaced our natural maple stained cabinets with white (a creamy white cabinet manufacturer calls Buttercream) and we have light stone counters. I wanted a subtle color on my walls as contrast to all the white. We Chose BM Carrington Beige and I just love how it makes all my white trim and our mantel pop. It is a chameleon shade that reads greenish, at times. Other times it's warm with a subtle golden glow. The name "beige" IMO, is not very representative of this color. You may want to check it out in your search....See MoreAnother one agonizing over choices. Miele or Bosch....please help!
Comments (10)I do use the master chef auto and special modes a fair amount. A miele tech advised me to use these are he claimed that Miele invested a fair amount to fine tune these for optimal results. Even though I had been cooking for over 30 years using a basic oven I have taken his advice and been pleased with the results. For example I use the "bake cookies" mode - where it prompts you for how many sheets and tells you which rack position(s) to use. You set the temp. You are never sure what actual cooking mode it is using which is a down side for me but my cookes turn out great so I won't complain. My beef Wellington's turn out gorgeous using the auto roast and the temp prob. In the combi steam I use the auto/special modes more than in my conventional oven. I find it useful for how long to cook (steam or combi steam) items. For example I had to steam some whole potatoes. It prompted me on size and how "done" I wanted. I find it is pretty accurate. Occasionally I might need to add more time or use a different "doneness" level next time but it is closer than me trying to guess. I also use the favorites where I can program in multiple cookies stages - very useful for bread baking or steaming items that I do a lot like broccoli stalks/eggs etc. I could not find the interior specs for the Bosch combi steam but I would compare that to the MIele. I know the Bosch cavity is smaller and width for me is a big deal. I could use a wider combi steam so my half sheet and cookie sheets would fit. I don't know how Bosch and MIele compare but I would not want the Miele any more narrow. Miele also has the broiler and more cooking modes than the Bosch. I use my combi steam as a conventional small oven almost daily. Miele also allows you to control the % of steam in 5% increments which I find extremely useful. The Bosch water tank is internal and if you need to refill - then you have to open the door which could compromise your oven temp and humidity level. There is a significant price difference so you need to decide how Miele versus Bosch fits into your budget and your cooking style. I started out on the Bosch Benchmark bandwagon but switched over to MIele due to the size of their combi steam and the additional functionality. I would make the same decision again....See MoreAnother garage door color choice - your thoughts?
Comments (17)Actually the garage is attached to the house, via the original entry porch, which opened on the garage side. I added an entry door to the front when I added the garage. It's the original 6 feet wide and has a pantry and coat closet behind it, and an added half bath beyond that, which goes to the back of the house. It has a full dormer across the back, making the bedrooms on the '3rd floor' in the back, as it has a daylight basement as part of the back yard slopes down toward the river. The second pic is out the master bedroom window after a nice rain. I love this house and hope it's my first and last....See MoreYayagal
