Need dining table pad - pls recommend a website/brand
Comments (3)I had a look at the pattern list on Ohio Table Pad Company's website and it does look like they have patterns for Ethan Allen tables: http://www.otpc.com/patterns.html I had a look at GoTablePads.com since they offer table pads manufactured by Ohio Table Pad Company and they will send you a tracing kit so that you can trace your table's corners if Ohio Table Pad Company doesn't have your exact table on file. GoTablePads.com includes free shipping. Here is a link that might be useful: table pad...See MoreNeed a recommendation for table pad mfr.
Comments (5)We used Sentry for dining table pads a long time ago, & are pleased with them. BTW, our dining table has a high gloss surface which will scratch. We use the pads when we want a tablecloth, and placemats without the pads. However, I wouldn't use those pads for a kitchen island. For buffet service, I'd get some thick runners to protect the island top and trivets for the hot dishes. You could get trivets that help keep the foods warm, like electric warmers, sterno, or candles. Slow cookers can keep foods warm too. I'd move the messy kid projects somewhere else, like a utility table with foldup legs. They come in all sizes and are so useful for parties, too, with a tablecloth. If you have to use the island, then put down a heavy plastic sheet you can have cut from a roll (hardware stores) and/or use sheet pans to contain & move the project. Muffin tins work well to store little pieces....See MoreNeed advice for height of this chandelier above dining room table
Comments (18)Thank you @JustMe, I understand what you are saying about ordering the singles. That certainly is an option. Let me clarify myself....we wouldn't be removing a coffer to hang a light. In fact, we would be adding the coffer. We toyed with the idea of adding a coffer to the dining room ceiling anyways prior to purchasing the light. We are the builders so we can add this at any point before we go to drywall. The ceiling in that room can either be a tray or a coffered ceiling. If we do put a coffered ceiling in this room, the base of the light could be mounted on the beam of the coffer. By doing so, the hanging globes would then be the correct height above the table. Sorry if I wasn't clear in my original post. So I guess my question now would be if the light would look weird if it was mounted to the beam of the coffer?...See MoreNeed help with layout, rug, lighting and dining table - any ideas?
Comments (44)I also like the foyer idea...only the back of the couch and a rug runner from the door behind the couch will work too...keeping the cozy couch area and fireplace as the focal point..not sure facing the dining room is what i would want to see from the couch...See MoreVicki Bauer
