For me:

Flabbergasted, discombobulated, shenanigans lollygag, brouhaha, skeddaddle, malarkey and only because I like the sound of it, I've thrown in kerfuffle.

The only one I haven’t used is “cattywampus”. As a matter of fact, I’ll have to look that one up.

I’ve used all the others. My six year old grandson always chuckles when I ask him if he’s up to his shenanigans. You should have heard him try to say it when he was younger. Cute!

Yup; like Michele, the only one I've never used (nor heard of) is "cattywampus". I don't use them often, but I do use them in real life from time to time. Most commonly used are flabbergasted, lollygag, and shenanigans.

I think I've used them all at one time or another.

almost all at one time or another. except kerfuffle. Doesn' t cattywampus mean catty corner?

Like Annie, I’ve used them all at some time or another. “Cattywampus” can mean kitty-corner, but also just askew or disorderly.

The only one I haven’t used is “cattywampus”. As a matter of fact, I’ll have to look that one up.

Ditto

I’d actually rate the majority of those as common, everyday words.

Know them all and have used them all at one time or another.

Does that make me a geezer - or just a nerd?

“I got no time for the jibba‑jabba.”

None actually.

Some seem to be old hat, but more recently several have made a real come back. It would be very easy today to create a sentence to include a few of them. For example :

A certain Nincompoop continues to Bamboozle people with his Shenanigans, Malarkey, and Tomfoolery as more are wishing that he would Skedaddle before everything becomes totally Discombobulated.

Vgkg, that was funny.

Cattywampus means crooked or out of alignment/place. As in the art on a wall not hanging straight, it is cattywampus.

I can’t remember using kerfuffle or bamboozled. I know what they mean, just never used them.

@katlan, I don’t think catty corner and cattywampus mean the same. At least not in my corner of the world, I’ve heard them used differently, not to describe the same thing.

I have used nine of those (not tomfoolery, discombobulated-actually, may have used this one, or cattywampus). Grandkids(8 and twins 6) are learning new old words. Next time I am over at their house, I will have a peek at their rooms and the playroom and I will use cattywampus and probably tomfoolery, too.! They will be completely discombobulated.

All except tomfoolery.

My mom used cattywampus often.

I use the top three frequently.

We don't say cattywampus where I'm from - we say whomperjawed.

Yes, most of them, except tomfoolery, cattywampus (but I knew what it means) skedaddle, wallygog, kerfuffle. I have a friend who named her dog Malarkey. Never use that one either.

Judge Judy uses kerfuffle frequently for when the case includes some kind of altercation.

I use most of those. Malarkey is one of my favorite words as it can be a polite synonym for BS.

I have enjoyed using them all. They are colorful and add some amusement to most occasions of use. Kerfuffle is the newest one I learned but I do use it as often as the others.

I agree that cattywampus means offbalance or askew.

I've used all, some recently. There is a (bathroom?) renovation company in my neck of the woods that uses in their TV and other advertising "Never Cattywampus!" - and has for years!

All except cattywumpus and lollygag, both of which I find are American in origin, so not surprising. I use all the others, some frequently.

I think the only one I have never used is tomfoolery.

Flabbergasted (his/her flabber is gasted all over the place), discombobulated, and brouhaha on a few occasions.

I have either used every word on the list, or I would not raise an eyebrow if I heard one used.

I guess I associate with folks who have diverse vocabularies.

Yes I've used them, some more often than others. Love the word discombobulated, describes me or my apt at times.

There's a stage show featuring Tom Lehrer songs, called "Tomfoolery". DH took me to a production of it at the local university for our first proper date some 43 years ago :-)

flabbergasted. It's the only one I can see me using. Im certainly aware of these words, but thats the only one that shows up.

I've used almost all of them and the post made me remember my high school principal who used to warn us against lollygagging in the halls.

shenanigans. you know, if you shenan once, you'll shenan again.

I don’t know why this popped up yesterday when i was looking for something else, but thought it was funny.

@OllieJane, I had a friend/co-worker who used ’whomper-jawed’ a lot. She is a brilliant scientist and hilariously funny, so it was so unexpected to others sometimes when she used it.
