I do SO appreciate these humor threads every day -- they bring sunshine to combat feelings of present gloom and make my day more pleasant. THANK YOU, everyone!!! =)

Male patient said, "Doctor, my girlfriend is pregnant but we always use protection and the cond*m never broke. How is it possible?" The doctor replied, "Let me tell you a story. There once was a hunter who always carried a gun wherever he went. One day he took his umbrella instead of his gun when he went out. A lion suddenly jumped in front of him. In order to scare the lion, the hunter used the umbrella like a gun, shot the lion and it died!" Male patient said, "Nonsense! Someone else must have shot the lion. The doctor replied, "Good! You understood the story. Next patient, please."

@donna_loomis, I made a couple of those scarves after you kindly sent me the pattern! Funny story- I was knitting one on the plane coming home from visiting my daughter. It was night, and most people were settling to go to sleep. There was a very inebriated (but also a friendly drunk) lady sitting across from me making interested comments about my knitting and asking if she could "have a go". You'll agree that it's not really a pattern you want a drunk person to have a go at: you could rip out the screwed up bit but it would be tedious. So I just kept putting her off. Finally the flight attendant came down and asked her to be quiet as people were trying to sleep. Whew!
