Help with Cookie Tin? Gift ideas?

I’m hoping some of you can give me ideas and help.

I want to send sibling in assisted living/care facility a bithdays gift. I am hoping to make the trip to visit her, but as it is a 2.5 hour drive just one way, and no relatives have offered us lodging, we will likely make it a short visit, day trip.

Her daughter tells me she already has so many things — projects like yarn work, clothing and whatever, so I can send her (diabetic!) cookies. She wants cookies and also a rock crab, crabmeat salad grilled hot dog roll. The crabmeat is easy, but not if I am working on it from my SUV after a long trip.

I don’t know from where Ican buy quality cookies. They would need to be in a closable tin.The staff does not really want residents to keep food in their suites.

I might have a cylindrical tin with my holiday stuff, else, where can I buy one? Marshalls, TJ Maxx? Penny’s?

I can bake her some quality choc chip or Toll House coolies (she likes those). Mail them or try to make a trip.

Do any of you have other ideas?

Maybe, I could take my little butane cooking burner, a skillet, to toast hot dog rolls in the parking lot 28 deg F). I could buy so e local rock crabmeat a d celery heartsto chop ( ring e from home), and buy some of that horrendous ”Miracle Whip” she likes instead of mayo. I will make the sacrifice. It may be the last time I see her.

Her daughter offered to give us money for lodging, but I will not take it. She has large new house, plenty of spacd, and if she wanted to, could offer us a place to put down an air mattress. We have that entire kit. Something is “off” there. I will not ask. We will make it a short visit (long drive) or use our own money to stay someplace.

Any ideas other than this? I am not sure that I have a closable tin.

God save us from small minded, unforgiving people.
