LG 2277 - Need helping solving noise and vibration issues
Comments (5)Hi Paula, welcome to the forum. I have a 1 month old LG 2277 with no vibration issues at all. My step mother has the Samsung made Neptune on a pedestal and has lots of vibration issues which is why I chose not to go with the pedestal. I have noticed that when I don't put enough into the machine that it has a lot harder time balancing the load when going into spin. It vibrates enough for me to feel it in my house but it is never consistently vibrating excessively. I reccomend you experiment with taking the machine off of the pedestal and see how that helps. Good luck, KC...See MoreKitchen gurus, please help me solve three issues!
Comments (29)Thank you all so much for your input and ideas and links. I spent a couple days REALLY thinking about the replies and then thinking about exactly what my problems are and needs are for solutions. I came up with some new realizations: I jolted awake Sunday in the wee hours, realizing that I had JUST given away to habitat for humanity the solution to my pot lid problem - grrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!! I HAD the perfect solution and gave it away! It was an upright roasting rack for chicken with a beer can but it was a certain shape that I COULD NOT find again, anywhere, now that I had given my vintage one away! In my case, I wanted something that did NOT impinge on the pot real estate (I was also worried that when sauteeing with a nearly empty pot and a heavy glass lid on the pot edge it might tip over with one of those edge clip things), was portable (sometimes I need a lid stand by the range, other times near the oven when using a dutch oven), either didn't get dirty while in use or very easy to clean, easy to store, and versatile enough to handle my little sauce pan lids up to my enameled cast iron lids and different knob types, too. What I ended up buying was the picture below, a stainless, commercial grade ham rack! I will put it upside down and put the pot lid upside down on the four "arms," and I can reach the knob under the hot lid easily without burning my hand. On the step stool this was agony to decide, but after REALLY considering how I want to use it, where I want to store it, and the fact that years ago even though I had a 6 ft high quality ladder I bought an ultra light one from Costco and it's absolutely been the GO TO ladder in the house ever since, so I know the value of "overpaying" for an ultralight - I went with the williams sonoma link, which is on back-order until March 14th. On the sponge, what I came to realize is that I'm having some significant hand strength issues due to unknown joint flare ups, and this has kept me from being able to scrub hard enough with a regular dish cloth to get crusty stuff off, therefore I need the sponge. It has also kept me from being able to wring out a sponge dry enough for it to be "dry" overnight. So I'm going to try a method where I put my dish cloth and sponge, dampened, in a glass and lidded glass small corningware each night and nuke it sterile. The lid and contained moisture should keep them from drying out and becoming a fire risk. I wanted a small carbon footprint solution, so running the dishwasher or washing machine every day is not likely to happen (we are a household of 3), yet I want a solution to the stinky sponge!! Thank you all once again! I love to read this board for ideas and of course eye candy! This post was edited by beautybutdebtfree on Mon, Feb 24, 14 at 8:01...See MoreLitter box issues {sigh}
Comments (13)Hi Tracey! I've been wondering how you and Casey are doing. I don't have great advice on this subject (I don't think), but that's a tough one! I don't think disposable diapers would work though, my DD is in a size 5 (pretty big in the diaper world) and it's not that big and tends to curl up. A better choice might be chux pads- I think that's what they are called. They are those disposable, absorbant pads they put under your rear when you go to the GYN. I think you can probably buy them at a medical supply store or maybe online. Are you around during the day? I.e. could you clean up after her real quick before the house is to be shown? When my old guy was in bad shape, he could not climb into the deep litter box, so we gave him a shallow one that he ended up peeing over the edge. I just stuck old bath towels around the pan, and kept the washer full of soapy water. A few times a day I'd pick up the old towel, toss them in the washing machine, wipe down the floor with a cleaner, and put new towels down. Then I'd run the laundry load about once a day. It wasn't that much work, and spared the dignity of all involved. A thought on your kitty's overactive bladder though... my mom was telling me recently that when people use the bathroom often (by choice), they end up not building bladder tone and capacity and can essentially end up with a bladder that NEEDS to be emptied frequently. I wonder if Casey got into the habit of peeing so often, from problems, that her bladder eventually lost the muscle tone and capacity that most cats have? Just a theory, nothing else. My CRF cat is only eating dry food these days. It's frustrating, but all she will eat. I understand where you are coming from on the food front. *sigh*...See MoreWhy has my cat, who has health issues, started pooping on the flo
Comments (6)I went back to mixing Fresh Step, the old litter, with Tidy cat. ItÂs only been 3 days. I will have to check with my husband to see if he has picked up any "deposits" lately. I have not found any. She does not seem to be constipated. I bought some new hairball medicine, which is an oil I have been mixing with her wet food. Unlike all the others I have tried so far, she likes this one. I have been wondering if the oil will make her stool softer too. I started using that maybe 2 weeks ago. The hairballs have now stopped. The floor pooping predates the hairballs (which show up every year in the spring); but IÂm wondering if having hairballs could have caused the uptick in incidence I noticed. The newspaper mostly makes it easier to clean the box. When I dump it, it all slides easily into the garbage. But I have noticed (maybe this is me speculating) that she does not like the feeling of the plastic under the litter on her toes. When I have run out of paper she has objected (donÂt ask me how I know, she just comes to me with this lookÂ). I usually put a heavy sprinkle of baking soda under the paper. I find the paper, which goes up the sides too, wicks the moisture away from just the one spot and makes it dry faster. She does not cover what she does in the box and never has. Just does it and leaves. If IÂm nearby and smell it, I do it!...See More- 4 months ago
