When you feel hungry, there will be lots of leftovere and maybe someone will make you some chicken or turkey soup — or make a Chinese restaurant run for won ton or hot and sour soup. If I lived next door, I’d be willing. If there’s a Vietnamese restaurant around, you can order pho.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes. I just tested positive for COVID! This is the first time I have ever had it. I got boosted a month ago, I am a religious hand washer, and I wear an N-95 in public.

After 5 years of masking, my husband and I decided to in the last month to be slightly more lax about it. We've eaten in some non-crowded restaurants and I have been unmasking to eat in the staff lunch area where I volunteer at a refugee legal project. I guess those tiny risks made a difference.

It took 4.5 hours for my doctor's on-call doc to call me back. They ordered paxlovid for me. I'm right at the five day window.

Goes to show that testing twice is useful. I tested on Tuesday and no covid. Tested positive on Thursday.

What awful news! I hope for you that the booster helps and you do not stay ill for long and do not have any long Covid symptoms after.

Oh NUTS! Glad you're on the paxlovid. This is the alert I needed to continue masking. I should get some test kits too. They may be in demand as the holiday travelers return with newly minted varieties of flu and Covid.

Sorry to hear that, but when you said fever with your cold, that was my first thought. The only time I had Covid, it was like a bad cold but small fever.

DH was at the grocery store when I read your post. Of course he did not have his phone turned on! Our pharmacy is in the store. I called to have him paged and told him to pick up some Covid test kits.

We both mask because of my blood cancer, and now we'll be ready for any post-holiday run on test kits.

I'm sorry to see the kits are pretty expensive now. Some people may skip them now the government isn't providing them. (Yet another error in that department.)

Has anyone ever used GoPuff to get pharmacy items delivered? I did last night to get the covid tests. My god, it cost an arm and a leg but it was worth it on Thanksgiving when everything else was closed. They came to my house in 11 minutes!
